Grooming Dept

Both actually - depends on the day, time available, and mood.

I have a question for those of you that have Grooming Dept soaps. Do any if you lather the soap directly from the container or do you take out a small scoop and lather in a bowl?

For all soaps/creams, I scoop out from the container, smear it in the bottom of my lathering bowl, and begin the lather building process.  I find this gives me more control over all variables. 1. I know exactly how much soap I am using. 2. I can add water slowly until I get it like I want it. 3. It allowed me to buy another shaving item.  4.  I never run short to finish my shave.

For better or worse, I can relate to item #3 , but my sense of better judgement leads me to ask about #1.  How do you measure how much soap you are using, and how much exactness are you aiming for?  -- Thx.

Exactness, very little. I use a credit card cut in half lengthwise and pay attention to how much I'm scooping out. I find the softer soaps require a bit more than the harder ones. This, of course, is a generalization and does not apply to all. For the most part, I end up with roughly an amount equal to a pea to an almond. This always yields more than enough to get the job done.

I also like things clean and neat. Scooping from the tub with a flat surface, credit card, leaves the surface of each soap flat, even, and neat, which makes me smile

I find the metal black American Express card works best!  Just a little more difficult to cut...

I scoop and smudge into a bowl. Same with all the soaps I use.

Wow, these threads really died after Mo stopped posting

Anyone have an idea when the next release is?

I read earlier that Mo was planning to hold off on new soap releases until he was able to release the after shaves. However, he is always full of surprises.

I hope he hasn't made a business mistake by stopping to post details and release dates on the forum. I'm hearing crickets.
