So been out of the forum loop for a while quite ill with recurring "flu".
To recap, Mo had sent a dropper bottle sample of unscented Serum to test but Enzo had knocked it into a bowl of dirty water. Having mercilessly brutalized the dog (ask him, he tells everybody that will listen how abused he is) for his dastardly deed went in search of replacements as a blind buy based on reviews. With a little luck, was able to get some bottles of GD Serum in Unscented and Mandarin/Cardamom realigning the solar system in renewed harmony.
Per Mo's advice, cut back on the normal post shave routine as much out of curiosity as belief it would yield positive results:
Apply final coat of shave soap and allow to remain on face during hardware cleanup
Cold water rinse
Wash with phisoDerm using cold water rinse
Apply alum and cold water rinse
Spritz Witch Hazel
Apply Pitralon AS
Apply ABC Balm
New routine:
Apply final coat of shave soap and allow to remain on face during hardware cleanup
Cold water rinse
Apply GD Serum to wet face rubbing in for 1,5 minutes
Apply ABC Balm
Have to confess, was VERY reluctant to alter an established routine that had taken years to develop and was yielding the best results in a lifetime of shaving ultra sensitive skin. Further had been trialing the new Wolfman WR2 in 0,95SB both side by side vs BBS1 and WR1 0,54DC then finally as a daily bbs shaver. That to state not only was the post shave routine altered significantly but was also bbs shaving on a daily basis for nearly 2 weeks straight - something hitherto would have caused unbearable pain and irritation. Without commenting on the razor review, which is imminent in a separate thread, can conclusively state the GD Serum is incredible!
Without doubt, the best general facial skin tone ever expressed has resulted from using the GD Serum - not only on the shaved areas where irritation has disappeared but also on the eye area where sun and physical trauma have taken quite a toll over the years. Further, whilst not a fan of scent other than AS and Frags, the scented Serum is so mild that there is virtually no chance of bleeding out to others nor interfering with other scents. Were I to characterize the trailing scent strength, it would be akin to having prepared a meal - in other words a dog may discern it but no human on Earth could possibly pick up on it.
Whilst hating to alter a proven routine, have now dropped the phisoDerm, witch hazel and alum post shave and dedicated to this route going foreward. Congrats to Mo on another product delivering on the promises. For all the people literally suffering from and dreading every shave, going GD preshave, soap and Serum has made the shaving experience physically dull and uneventful while delivering bbs shaves - the perfect result! I never thought it would get this good and am grateful

I ordered one of each. Birch tar? Doesn't sound like I'll like it but Mo has surprised me before.

Dumb question(s) here:
So, you are done shaving. You then apply more shave soap while you maintain gear....then rinse it off Why? Does the soap dry?

There are those knowledgable that suggest lathering the face after the final pass and allowing it to set for a period rehydrates the skin if recalling correctly. Usually it remains foamy although it has dried without ill effect.

It shouldn't be harder for long.
That is good news. I know that the international shipping of alcohol is doable but its a permitting thing and the vendor has to consider the volume they'll ship and usually its not significant enough to justify going through the process. I think its the same with badger brushes or at least similar.
I'm glad to hear that the issue is being worked on. I don't want to go back to the dark ages of wet shaving
Thanks

I believe it's a method that is used, depending on the soap.
If the list of ingredients contain a healthy dose of skin nourishing properties, it's sort of like a pre post shave, post shave...if that makes sense. Haha

I've always believed letting soap dry on your skin would/could cause dry skin and/or irritation. But I've never really studied if that's true. I suppose it would depend on the kind of soap, as pointed out by Pottertons...but still. Even with Mo's preshave I apply it to wet skin and try to work fast enough from that point forward not to let it dry.
I'm always up for a little edukatin' tho....

Anyone get the soaps that were available today? I got both. Mallard Rose Chai is still available. Molten is sold out.
