Hi everyone, I received the sandalwood creme sample this afternoon and will shave with it on wednesday or Thursday. I reached out to bobmsp and will ship it out in the next day or so to keep it moving. I will post my thoughts as soon as I get my shave in. Cheers everyone

I was trying to decide wether to buy the Sandalwood splash or order a custom rose one to use with MdC, but also other soaps. I was kind of stuck on wether I wanted straight rose so I never ordered it. Having rose and Sandalwood together sounds like heaven for this night shaver.
I’m glad you like the idea and you certainly could pair this splash with either a Rose Shave soap or a Sandalwood shave soap and get a pleasant olfactory experience. Speaking of my pure Mysore Sandalwood Skin Food Splash I was wondering what it would smell like if I added Rose to the more dominant Sandalwood scent so out of curiosity I’ll definitely try it as the one I made above is the exact opposite and is more Rose dominant.
Definitely good for a nighttime shave.
Thank you for your post!

There is a pass around of the Vegan Creme for evaluating the scent in comparison to the Vintage Art of Shaving Sandalwood and the Fine Sandalwood Absolut. Only the vintage AOS had some real Sandalwood in it along with 3 other notes while the Fine is a synthetic duplication of the AOS which to my nose are very different from one another. The sample that’s passing around has some real Sandalwood EO in it along with a Sandalwood Accord and a small dose of the other 3 notes. Which are all done with EO’s.
So it’s not the same as the100% Mysore Sandalwood Cremes and soon to be shave soaps I’ve made custom for some customers which is quite pricy all due to the lofty price of the essential oil.
You could add your name to the pass around list, the only problem is the sample in the pass around because it was really only for scent evaluation is only a 1 oz size. So not sure how much will be left when it gets to your name. With all that said I know now that I’m going to have to modify my aroma blend to try and get it a bit closer to the other two based on the feedback I’ve already gotten and my own feelings on the scent comparison. So I imagine I may send another sample back around to the same people that tried the current sample.
An this scent is going in a reasonably priced and Base Shave soap. If you’d like me to make you a small custom 1 oz travel size of the real Mysore Sandalwood Creme Vegan or in the new Tallow Creme base that can be arranged as I have a couple custom orders for both coming up that I have to make.
Sounds complicated doesn’t it. It really isn’t lol

I would like to try the Vegan base as you said on your site the cream affects the scent less than a soap, but Tallow Creme sounds great too. If you are already making some and it's within say 20 for a sample size, add me to the list and I will contact you through your website.(02-09-2022, 04:28 AM)1700Z shadow Wrote: How do I get a Sandalwood creme sample? I think based on the fact that this pass around will probably run out of the product before it gets to you it’s probably a good idea to get on the next list for the newer tweaked version. It probably won’t be long before the next one is ready to go out just check this thread and add yourself to the list when it comes up.
As far as the real Mysore sample yes please contact me through an email on that one.

I’m looking at between 2 to maximum 3 weeks for All these.. the Tallow Shave Creme ( Blood Orange ) and 3 Shave Soaps including the Tonka Bean, Mandarino Fumo and the King Of The North. An also The Razor Company Collaboration Shave Soap, Skin Food Splash and Bar Soap .
A couple may be ready before the estimated time.l I mentioned.
I will be sending out the sandalwood sample tomorrow to Bob and will update the thread on my shave tomorrow. Dragonsbeard Frank, can you post the ingredients list for the creme that is used on this passaround if possible. Thanks

zaclikestoshave Here’s the Vegan Creme ingredients and the aroma blend in this current pass around.
Ingredients: Water, Aloe Vera, Stearic Acid, Glycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Myristic Acid, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Illipe Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Sodium Hydroxide, Coconut Milk, Apricot Seed Oil, Avacado Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, EOS Complex, Ceramide Complex, Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Herbal Extract Blend of Calendula, Aloe Vera, Hibiscus, Acacia, Milk Thistle.
This is the Vegan Shave Creme Base
The pass around Aroma blend contains Mysore Sandalwood Accord, Essential oil of East Indian Sandalwood are the predominant Aroma ingredients. There are very small amounts of the original AOS notes of Siberian Fir Needle, Myrrh, Eucalyptus, Jasmine and instead of Vanilla I used some Benzoin as a substitute.
I feel that by only using a very small amount of the aroma ingredients that were in the original AOS blend I could change percentages as I tweak the blend. Also honestly I’m not sure they used all essential oils in those other notes I mentioned but I thought I’d go with the naturals.
Definitely both the East Indian Sandalwood EO and the Mysore Sandalwood Accord make up the majority of the blend.
I also figured I can increase the percentage of some of the other notes if need be. Also I can play with the percentages of the Mysore Sandalwood Accord and the East Indian Sandalwood EO based on the feedback.
Just so you know my target was definitely more in the direction of the vintage AOS scent than the Fine Absolut.. I know it’s supposed to be a dupe of the AOS Sandalwood but to me it’s a synthetic Sandalwood scent much in the same way that TOBS Sandalwood is for example. Nice scents both of them but pretty far away from a real Sandalwood whereas the AOS features more Sandalwood especially in the dry down after the opening of the somewhat medicinal scent clams down and the Sandalwood and sweeter more creamy powdery notes show up and dominate the blend.
I hope that explains the sample Vegan Shave Creme pass around. An to be clear I expect some tweaking will go on until it meets the expectations of the members that put me on this journey.
Great shaves all
