ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

My first ETHOS Soap, I was told it was a ‘must have’ by a friend of mine. The scent is outstanding, it smells EXACTLY like Vanilla Beans. I followed suggestions and used a small scooper to scoop out about half an almond size piece of soap and bowl lathered it. A few drops of water and it exploded into a thick and slick lather. First impressions are very good. I’m enjoying whiffs of Vanilla ever since my Shave, killer scent on this one.

Thanks Frank! This is F base. I'm very pleased with the performance. And I'm looking forward to trying the new S base too. I'm a bowl latherer so both will work well for me.

Great news Frank as I personally prefer jar lathering. Funny thing is I thought I was “off” when I’d build a lather holding a jar upside down. I guess it may be unorthodox but it does work when needed which I guess is a topic for another discussion.

It’s a good thing to load without getting a lot of water in your soap and the results as far as getting the right amount of soap is no different.

Ok a quickie story.. so a customer friend of mine were talking on the phone and he asked me if I would make him a Rose and Sandalwood Skin Food splash as he’s a fan of the MDC Rose shave soap and wanted something that wasn’t a straight
Rose. So I suggested using a really nice East Indian Sandalwood that has a very nice woody note to it and not as creamy as the Mysore Sandalwood but if your a Sandalwood fan like I am I have several types I like for different reasons. Anyway going off track lol 

So when I was talking to him on the phone I mentioned I’d never tried any aftershave or anything that was a Rose other than the Vintage AOS Rose Shave cream I have and it’s weird because I like the variety of Rose Absolutes, essential oils and I also like Rose Hydrosol or in the case of Rose it’s usually referred to as floral water.

So he quickly sent me a sample of the MDC shave soap and I made a Rose and Sandalwood Skin Food Splash for myself also. Well I gotta tell you I’m hooked on this combo. I keep opening it and smelling it. I also think this would be one of only a few scents that I’d use in a nighttime shave before you go to bed type scent. Kind of how I feel about like Lavender as it’s relaxing. 

So do you guys think making a matching Shave soap or Creme is worth exploring down the road after I catch up on other projects or is the Rose scent something that’s not on a lot of peoples olfactory palette? It’s so simple.. organic Rose and  Sandalwood. 

Any feedback guys?

This is something I was hoping you might eventually offer. I was trying to decide wether to buy the Sandalwood splash or order a custom rose one to use with MdC, but also other soaps. I was kind of stuck on wether I wanted straight rose so I never ordered it. Having rose and Sandalwood together sounds like heaven for this night shaver.
