Have you given any more thought to the possibility of a bay / bay rum inspired scent? I know you were but the whole bay oil shortage thing happened. I haven't forgotten.
I think that would be an outstanding pairing. Many great whiskey drinks aren't complete without a cherry in there, so it sounds great to me. Plus there are some citrus notes in Bon Vivant, so I think it's a good one. I also know a lot of people have enjoyed Adagio and Colbeck this summer. So I guess it pairs well with any alcohol-drink-inspired aftershave, haha.
As far as the bay scent, I have thought about it, but then I had other ideas pop up. I could perhaps do a custom scent, however.
At the moment I just wrapped a winter seasonal called Unconditional Surrender, inspired by Ulysses S. Grant. It features amber, tonka bean, cedarwood and agarwood, with cigar tobacco, amyris, vetiver, black tea, jasmine and geranium supporting it. I liked it enough that I decided to make it a winter seasonal rather than just a limited edition.
Then I also have been kicking around an idea that was inspired by a cedar forest in the winter when the air has that sweet smell it can get when it's really cold and humid, but there is no wind. I love that smell, plus the way that snow muffles all sounds so it's just insanely quiet is one of my favorite things. Basically, what I'm saying is I love snow. Maybe not the kind of snow you guys get up there, but I still love it. My friends and coworkers really get sick of my snow enthusiasm during winter.
