This Saturday, October 22, I was invited to do an AMA on Reddit. I'll be answering questions about products, scents, shaving, memes, baseball, The Leftovers on HBO (I hope someone wants to talk about the new season), St. Louis, why Boston terriers are the best dogs, and anything else in between.

You can join in at any time on Saturday at http://www.reddit.com/r/wetshaving

Yesterday, someone approached Ryan @ Tallow + Steel about putting together a limited edition Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli shaving soap. And now, a mere 24 hours later, preorders are up and running. Head over to TallowAndSteel.com if you want to get in on this soap. I designed it because I didn't have something that I could consider a daily driver scent, so I think it's cool that it'd be in a soap.

Orders are open until the 28th. Based on the last time we did this, I know Ryan will get it turned around quickly. So put in an order if you want to get in on that.

Also, my Ask Me Anything on Reddit is up and running. Some pretty good questions. Jump in if you want. https://www.reddit.com/r/Wetshaving/comm..._anything/

Shawn, was this the announcement you referred to in a recent communication? I've got my order in. Now I've got Champs de Lavande, Vide Poche and soon Yuzu Rose Patchouli in a soap, how awesome is that? I missed out on the TSM Fougere in soap but such is life.

Marko The TSM Fougère soap is a permanent addition to the L&L lineup, so it'll get restocked. No worries on that end.

But yeah, I'm excited to get the Y/R/P in a soap. It's something I am really, really looking forward to using. The announcement was on Reddit as the idea started in the AMA I was doing over there, but Ryan was nice enough to put it out there for everyone.

Okay, hawns, what am I missing in your write up of Unconditional Surrender?

To my knowledge, the Spanish-American War was fought in 1898.  The American Civil War was fought 1861-1865.  Therefore, how could Ulysses S. Grant have fought in the Spanish-American War before the Civil War?  This also does not take into account that he was president of the United States from 1869-1877 and died in 1885, thirteen years prior to the Spanish-American War. Help! Confused

(Are you sure you don't mean the Mexican-American War [1846-1848] instead of the Spanish-American War?)
