BST Flipping

Per Andrew “flipping” isn’t against any rules.  You’re still giving that a negative connotation.  A free market allows for that to occur.  This happens everyday on DFS with Wolfman Razors because they are rare to obtain.  DFS members are marking them up greatly.  Isn’t that true!

It felt like a Stars and Stripes type of day!

I know I’m not in the minority here in the understanding that friendships, respect, kindness and the plain enjoyment of the hobby is the main purpose of this forum. On the flip side, we are also able to sell something for whatever price we want. Sometimes it’s fair, other times it’s not. This is totally up to that individual and what value they find in the community. We all have different ideals of right and wrong, which is why this debate could be never ending. At the end of the day we should all just try to be a good person.

So,  there you go!  You’re  trying to say that I will be penalized but for others that markup razors that’s ok.  It’s a hypocrisy!

The problem with many of you is that Andrew’s decision didn’t go your way!  As your emotions are baseless! Plainly, you’re wrong!  And I do enjoy the hobby greatly and are very passionate.  It does not negate the fact that that I cannot make money on something that’s rare and the market has justified my price.  

I’ll be just fine Justin!  I think many of you need to get over yourselves!

I understand. I think we should all go to our local retailers like wal-mart and demand that they sell their goods for the price they paid for them, because profits are bad.

Some would like BST among a small community to be no different than eBay, that's fine, I'm not one of them. This ain't Walmart.

jmudrick is absolutely right.  Many of us would rather treat this hobby as a community instead of a business.  Friendship and respect will always carry a much higher value.

The BST on a hobby forum is this, given my experience, whether shave related, astronomy related, or cooking. There is a camaraderie and kinship, not consumer and retailer. Certain items do command higher prices, based on that community's value of them. But quite often, I've experienced great prices AND communications, and often, at the end of the sale, feel that I have a new friend. I don't become friends with a cashier at the store, as pleasant as they can be. It's not the point, in that locale.

Next we'll have folks trolling for PIFs cuz capitalism. Will be the donors fault for giving stuff away. Great .

Fun Fact….. and I would love for Andrew or a MOD to verify this….

Check and see how many shave items I’ve sold off the DFS BST, Nook, B&B, Reddit, and that’s all I belong to. In fact, I hope a victim comes forward. It’s a boring number actually.  Zero.  I’ve never sold 1 item on any of the BST ever

Kinda boring right? I’ve sold on eBay…ahhhh, guilty. If you spend 550 for something and sell it for 680, insure it for full value and send it to Italy.  What are the fees and postage? Never mind, it’s a flip, guilty

I’m actually interested in shaving goods and I have fun participating here.  You broke no Rules here but you feel the need to validate yourself.  You have no interest in this shaving forum sans its BST and that’s ok, that’s what it’s here for. Last year when you ran your mouth over profiting from your Raw sale, I stood up for you in front of some well respected members. Quite frankly, I’m embarrassed.  I’m the moron that has to apologise to these good ppl standing up for your moral fibre

But hey, it’s not personal, just business right? I’m looking for a copper Wolfman handle to complete my kit.  I’ll take any length or style.  Let me know if you come up with anything, I’ll pay premium

I know you’ll be fine, Jeff and I hope that continues.  I am also perfectly fine with Andrew’s decision. I never felt you needed to be banned. I just disagreed with your approach. We will continue to agree to disagree and that’s fine also. Enjoy the hobby man, it’a a fun one. Just keep in mind that it’s a hobby and a community.

I don’t need to validate myself at all but many are upset greatly because I made a few dollars Rob!  You’re upset as well that I didn’t take you up on your generous offer as I felt it was worth more. Isn’t that my choice and prerogative!  I was right!  People made the Raw sale an issue on their own accord.  What was it anyone’s business to chime in and make angry comments.  I was virtually a new member at that time.  I didn’t know if there were any rules pertaining to selling at a premium and even now I know there aren’t any kind of selling rules.  

 I have never called out anyone for selling at a premium and I have never called you out for selling Wolfman razors and making a lot of money either and taking advantage of James supply and demand.  

Rob as we texted and agreed I gave you first right of refusal and you declined my offer.  It’s that simple!  

This is insane!  I feel sorry for many of you that are carrying a grudge over this.
