No expectations yet for it but it will be a fun experiment, as I miss shaving every 2-3 days when I use the blackbird Ti because of how efficient it is.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! You’re the kind of person this was designed for so I’m hoping it’ll be a great fit.

It was a very comfortable 3 pass shave.  I did need a little jaw line touch ups but it is comfortable, easy shaving, and perfect for daily efficient shaves.

Where the original BB Ti I can skip a day, I am not sure I would want or need to with the Lite.

Update 1 - 8hrs later still BBS or DFS+ in every spot. Most comfortable shave I’ve had in a while. Super happy with this purchase.

Update 2 - at nearly 20 hours, I still have a DFS. The Blackbird Lite Ti really is a great alternative to the BB Ti that is just a bit too aggressive and efficient for my needs.

I love the Blackbird in Stainless and can't help but feel like the Ti would be the perfect middle ground for me. The Standard blackbird plate is great, the Lite plate is pretty nice but just not hitting the sweet spot which makes me miss the Standard plate a little so in my mind the middle ground Ti is probably just right but that just might be my RAD telling me there is always something better to experience. Big Grin

I feel like there is a Blackbird for everyone. Between finishes, materials, handles and plates there outta be a Blackbird razor in everyone's collection. There is something about Blackland razors where you have to have them all.

I will have to give myself more time with the Lite plate but it seems to be pretty decent.

I’m glad you think there’s now a Blackbird for everyone! That was our goal with the Lite and Lite Ti. It’s worked out nicely so far.

I would say you definitely hit that mark.
I'm so passionate about this razor I feel like everyone should experience it in some form or another.
I was one of those people that sat on the fence for years because I heard the standard plate was "too aggressive" or "aggressive" to me that makes no sense because a razor cannot be aggressive and smooth at the same time. I say its efficient and smooth. It might be the way I interpret the term "aggressive" but it just seems like a harsh word.

I'm glad I made my way to the Blackbird nonetheless.

After a week of shaving exclusively with a BB Ti lite and using many great soap bases (Ethos, B&M Omnibus, WK Tallow + Donkey, GD Kairos, etc..) I have an update and rating.

First I should say, I have a moderate to thick beard (Italian descent) and I have mild folliculitis and psoriasis (which I haven’t had an issue with for years). In other words if I’m not careful I’m a mess for a few days.

My daily shaver to compare to is a Carbon Ti - .68 original plate. The BB Ti Lite is surprisingly comfortable, capable of a complete BBS with a tiny bit of work on the jaw line, and just a pleasure.

I would rate the original blackbird Ti as a 9 in efficiency and 6 in comfort and 7 in smoothness (I have several still).

The Lite Ti I would rate a 9 in comfort, 9 in smoothness and a 6-7 in efficiency (depending if I feel like a jawline touch up).

Where it would struggle is if I let my facial hair grow 4-5 days and tried to mow it down… that the original blackbird would be better suited for. So for shaves every 1-3 days where you value comfort, smoothness and efficiency, I think the Lite is phenomenal. It’s a different razor than the BB Ti, in a good way, but maintains much of the BB shaving characteristics.

For my skin, it’s the blackbird I always needed.

In fact, I may order a second Lite plate as my travel razor.

I previously owned and returned the blackbird without using it due to excess wobble of the handle in the stand. Curiosity got the better of me and I ordered it in the new ti satin. Guess I was lucky because the fit is perfect this time around.

I can’t believe how well it shaves. I used the provided personnas as those have quickly become my favorite in any razor and it was crazy smooth. I’ve read some comparisons to the wr2 1.25-1.35 range but for me the bb felt way safer. Each their own I guess. I’ll be keeping her this time.

Anyone used this combination?

handle SS + plate Ti (Original, not the Lite) + top cap SS

How was the shave?

Have tried the Ti Topcap and baseplate on the long SS handle.  Prefer Ti all the way around for this razor.

I’ve not tried it, however, mixing metals isn’t usually a good idea because of galvanic corrosion. It’s chemistry.
