Two things.  Will Bay Rum be released in the glissant base when it is put into the new packaging?  And, without regard to Kyovu what I really wanted to know was whether you would ever be releasing a Bay Rum aftershave splash. Your Bay Rum is an excellent version  and since the demise of kyovu your Bay Rum soap has been rendered companionless, a lone wolf.  Sure there are plenty of bay rum aftershaves out there but there is only one Barrister and Mann Bay Rum and just so you know, I'm not above begging Big Grin

You've actually already asked me both of those things. Big Grin To reiterate, yes, Bay Rum will be switched to Glissant when it debuts in the new packaging, and we will be releasing matching Tonique aftershaves for the remainder of our Classic soaps (Seville, Cheshire, and Bay Rum) in July. Smile

The man likes his Bay Rum. And yours. Can't blame him, it is good stuff. I'll be happy for the release of the aftershave as well.

I had the pleasure of sniffing the Barrister's Reserve Fern aftershave at Seattle Shave Con in October. I look forward to its release. I've tried all three of the current Barrister's Reserve aftershave releases, and find them all worthy. The Fern will be at least as good, I suspect.

This may have been answered already, but will the reserve fern aftershave release coincide with a matching soap release?

Drambuie, its been a long while since I owned a bottle of that.  WhiskeyExchange says: Grass, orange, honey, hay, and mixed herb.  I can see how that might appeal.  But I really want the smokey/peaty Islay whisky scent one day.

I have long-term plans to attempt to reformulate it in such a way that we could make it on a large scale, but no promises. Sorry folks.
Very sorry to hear Kyovu won't be coming back.  As advertised it was an excellent cross between a splash and lotion.  I will prize my remaining bottle of bay rum kyovu  which is one of the finest bay rum interpretations I've encountered.  I hope in some way, shape, or form, it makes a comeback.

Yes to both. Big Grin

Ah, yeah, that will never happen. Roam taught me to use smoke very delicately, if at all. I won't be doing a scent that contains smoke in any particular capacity again. Apologies.

Perfectly understandable. Smile

I received my 3 soap sample pack on Monday. I already had full bottles of Classic and Cool aftershaves. The soap scents are perfect matches. I've used the Classic soap twice and the performance was just as good if not better than the glissant base. Maybe a little easier to lather if that's possible. No problem at all with hard water and very forgiving on the amount of water used. I felt like I could build an excellent lather with either a little or a lot of water.

I used the Cool for the first time today and was surprised at it's consistency. Classic was very similar to glissant in firmness, maybe a little softer. But Cool was very soft. Almost to the point that I would consider it a cream. It made loading the brush an entirely different experience than when I loaded Classic. I felt like the brush picked up a ton of soap and made it very paste-like at first. I had to add quite a bit of water to get past that pasty stage. Once I did, the lather and performance were fine. I was just surprised at the drastic difference between the two soaps. Rather than tub loading, I almost feel like I should have just put a dab of the Cool directly on the brush, like I do with Proraso from the tube. Even though I haven't used Spice yet it seems to be firm like the Classic.

Overall though, great performance from both soaps. I'm really impressed.

Maybe Will can comment on this. Is that the intention or is something up with my samples?

Not necessarily intentional so much as "unavoidable due to the fragrance compounds." We're curing it for as long as possible to mitigate the issue, but Cool is just going to be softer than the other two.

What about tobacco absolut? While I'm chancing my arm, what about mint in some form?

Also, is 42 going to be available thru Maggard's at some point for your international fans? Did I miss the boat entirely?

Lastly any hints on Fougère Gothique or Eventide? Surely you must have some ideas in mind.

Tobacco absolute will be part of Fougère Gothique, though as a supporting note rather than a major component. I'm afraid that you missed the boat on Maggard, though; they put it up last Thursday and sold their stock. Italian Barber still has some, though.

No hints on Eventide yet, and no further hints re: Gothique beyond what I mentioned above. Smile
