For Barrister's Reserve items. It does not apply to everything. Also, it will only work for folks who have not purchased Reserve before. Smile

For an introduction, I recommend purchasing Cool. It is exceptional.

My favorite is Classic.

Then again, Spice is nice, too.

Aww hell. Buy 'em all!

Classic is my favorite, and I also own spice. I haven't purchased the cool because I have a 400ml bottle of floid blue and a full bottle of aqua velva...so I probably won't run out for YEARS.

Hi Will, I just finished reading (and subscribing to) your inaugural edition of Mannscents. What a great blog, thanks for putting the time and effort into producing such an excellent blog. The presentation is sophisticated and professional - what we've all come to expect from Barrister and Mann. I look forward to future issues.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi Marko! Thank you! I didn't share it here because I didn't want to step on anyone's toes, but I'm glad you're enjoying it. Smile

Sorry I haven't been around much, everyone. Getting ready for the Night Music launch is taking up a lot of my time.

Marko speaks for me, as well, Will.  I truly enjoyed the read and look forward to others.  It gives a bit more understanding of some of the fragrances I use.  I received a sample of the Versace Eros and while I liked it, which is unusual for me when it comes to more modern scents, like you, I was not bowled over.  Others, of course, may disagree but your description and thoughts are a great starting off point.  Thanks for a great blog.

I cant imagine how much time it really takes to test, review, then write up blog posts like this. Nice job. Can you do this one next?  Big Grin

ck One is on my list (without Louis CK; great joke, though Big Grin), but this coming week is actually going to be Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel. I was originally going to review Dior Sauvage (different from Eau Sauvage), but found that about the nicest thing I could say about it is that it reminds me very strongly of carpet freshener. Since I tend to take a lot of flak when I tear fragrances down that way, I decided that perhaps it was better to simply cover something that I quite like, particularly because Sauvage has proven to be very popular.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Will (Barrister_N_Mann)!  Dior Sauvage absolutely STINKS (in my humble opinion, of course Big Grin) and calling it carpet freshener truly denegrates carpet freshener.  That Dior would name it so similarly to Eau Sauvage, which is wonderful (again, in my humble opinion Big Grin) is criminal, as far as I am concerned.  In fact, it is the Sauvage type of "modern scent" that is so common now and I think smells like stale urine (once again, in my humble opinion Big Grin).  All of these Sauvage type of scents have absolutely no nuance.  They are all loud and offensive.  Give me a classic scent, such as Dior's Eau Sauvage, Hermès Terre d'Hermès, Dunhill (original), Roger & Gallet L'Homme, Annick Goutal Eau du Sud (or Eau d'Hadrien), or Guerlain Vetiver over these newer scents any day.

Ah, Night Music of course. That explains the relative lack of activity - I was thinking that this had to be the longest streak of inactivity on the Barrister and Mann Merchant thread since I joined DFS a year and a half ago. Now all is revealed and the mystery is solved Big Grin

It's pretty unpleasant. I'm fairly certain that it's the result of an overdose of Ambroxan and Amber Xtreme, but I'd really have to experiment with both materials more to be sure of that.
