I also thoroughly enjoyed the AMA. Thanks for doing it Will. I ended up ordering the under $50 fragrance that Will referenced to (Boucheron).

On a side note, has anyone heard anything in the release of Lavanille in Glissant? I need some and am going between getting one now and another in Glissant when it comes out or if it's coming out anytime soon, waiting and getting 2 in Glissant. Thanks!

No, probably not.

Lignin, one of the major structural carbohydrates in wood pulp, breaks down over time and degrades into vanillin. An old book scent would likely incorporate various notes of woods, inks, and vanilla. Smile

Sorry I missed it live. I just spent a lot of time reading it and laughed, learned, and now it's after midnight...

Great- fun read. Had me on the internet on tangents reading about things I don't think I would have been interested in otherwise. Also ended up with an Amazon order for some bath gel and aftershave from Spain!?   Blush

Looking forward to tomorrow's shave even more than usual now.

Glad you enjoyed it! What did you order? Agua Lavanda?

I actually commented on this in the AMA, but we're hoping to get it on the market for the Spring launch. Smile Finally coming into the final stretch with finishing the packaging, which accompanies the base changeover.

Great news on Lavanille - is the final stretch also going to see your Bay Rum crossing over as well?

What did you order? Agua Lavanda?

Yes. Aqua Lavanda Puig.

I hope it's not as musty as Aqua Brava. That's a little too much for me.

Make that a +1 for me, Will. I just finished reading the one on vanillin. Mark said it best, "interesting and informative." Happy2

I received the Agua Lavanda yesterday Will.

It's amazing how much it smells like vintage Yardley's Lavender cologne and aftershave. I have a few very old bottles of those Yardley's in my stash and I really don't know how they smelled when new, but the Agua Lavanda is very similar.

The price? Ha!

The bottle of aftershave you linked in the AMA is less than $20 and it is absolutely enormous! 25.5 oz.

This will last me for YEARS!.

It's a very short lived scent. I have faint whiffs of it as I write this but nothing close to the intensity a moment after applying it.

Very nice.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Glad you're enjoying it, gentlemen. Smile I'll be covering various natural and synthetic materials as I go. Next one will be oakmoss, but that's a couple of weeks out yet. Going to stop by Sephora this weekend to pick up samples for my next review. The idea is to only review things that are really accessible, so I'm focusing primarily on places like drug stores, Wal Mart, Sephora, Macy's, etc. Not sure what the next review will be (though I have some ideas). Smile

Good to hear that you like it, Todd! I usually BATHE in the stuff in the Summer. It's refreshing and lovely and keeps mosquitos away. Smile

So unlikely that I'm just going to go ahead and say no. I've now discontinued it twice, so I don't want to discontinue it a third time. Confused
