In only a few days this has completely transformed my skincare regime. Since adopting this method, my face has not once experienced excessive dryness or flaking even when using very plain alcohol splashes.

Your advice is much appreciated my friend Smile.

Happy to hear it helped!

After using hawns Chatillon Lux aftershaves yesterday & today I must add them to my list for this thread. They are so moisturizing that I plan on cutting it with some water when I use some tomorrow. Once I find my favorite scents I may work with Shawn to tone the moisturizing down a touch as my oily skin was a bit tacky today. But boy, oh boy did my skin feel nice all day. Plus, all of the scents have an Old World charm to them that I find quite nostalgic and appealing.

That was my experience as well Brian. I just received a custom order from Shawn that cut the glycerin and reduced the witch hazel.

Yowza- it is still very moisturizing but IMHO strikes the perfect balance. Absorbs well, refreshes and Shawn also added some menthol. These AS splashes are wonderful!

Funnily enough, Kevin, (although not unsurprisingly) I mentioned your custom formula as a jumping off point for where we could go with it.

Yes, Shawn mentioned a modified version that he did for someone. When I went back through this thread and saw your posts I was wondering if it was you. I might very well go with something similar once I decide on the scents I like. Is there any other splash you can compare it to now that I might have some experience with?

After you mentioned that to me I went back through this whole thread and saw Kevin's comments and made me think he might have been who you were referring to. I'm excited. Cutting it by leaving some water on my palm this morning worked splendidly, except that it dropped the scent strength.

It is still very nourishing. I would describe it as slightly heavier than a Floid; perhaps like a Captain's choice or Ogallala if you have sampled those?

I came in early again today and it is now a little after Noon. My face/skin feels perfect just now about 7 hours in and this particular formula would definitely be my go to.

I'm still experimenting, because I have very dry skin. I would say, typically I cannot use most splashes because they really tighten my face and dry it out so I'd have to follow with a balm which makes the splash unnecessary IMO.

The most moisturizing splashes I have found for my use case are:

DR Harris Windsor
DR Harris Sandalwood
Floid Black
WSP Gaelic Tweed
Skin Bracer

I'm still on the hunt though, getting some Dr. Jon's splash samples this week from Maggard Razors, along with some Myrsol samples. We will see how I like those, as I've never tried either brand of splash before.
