Your most moisturizing alcohol splashes

Dr. Jon's Hydra and RazoRozk's King Louis Lavender Lotion Splash..

I'm still on the hunt though, getting some Dr. Jon's splash samples this week from Maggard Razors, along with some Myrsol samples.  We will see how I like those, as I've never tried either brand of splash before.

I know you are looking for a moisturizing splash and curious to see your thoughts on the Myrsol.

I like Myrsol a lot but I believe the only one that contains glycerin is Emulsion [has lanolin too]. I don't find them drying but I also have neutral skin.

My favorite is Balsalmica if you happened to pick that up. Good luck!

The Myrsol was very drying actually. The two I tried just weren't for me (Blue/Formula F???). They both didn't seem to linger after application and again, they both dried me out a bit.

I must say however, that I'm beginning to rethink my aftershave trials. Since the overwhelming majority of them dry me out (80 to 90%), perhaps I'm just going to purchase the splashes I want, and just follow them with a deep moisturizer for dry skin. This way I can enjoy the splash and still have skin that isn't dry. I just tried Fine Platinum and I'm in love with the scent so, I'd hate to give that up.

Yeah my use case is a bit interesting. After using Beaver Woodwright splashes, which up until I found the DR Harris/Floid were the most moisturizing I'd ever used, I figured, "there must be many more of these moisturizing splashes out there." Trying to find more hydrating aftershave splashes became a quest. After sampling, sampling, and more sampling, I'm finding that it is rare for me to have a very hydrated face feel after using a splash. Typically, my face starts to tighten, and tighten then then if I do not do something, it will break up and start flaking eventually. Again, only WSP, DR Harris, BWW and Floid have gotten me close to where I'd like to be (although as I type that, it seems like a ton). Thanks to all this trying and more trying of splashes, I just feel like I'm foregoing some of the best artisan scents/splashes out there, when the chances of them performing the way I want for my super dry skin is small so I'm just going to use whatever I want, and then use a ultra-hydrating face lotion after.

I would still definitely recommend trying one of the Chatillon Lux stock formula splashes. More moisturizing than Floid and great scents too. Too bad about the Myrsol but I suspected that may be the case- to your point you can always follow up with witch hazel or even add a couple of drops of glycerin to your favorites.

+1 on the glycerin. Be careful not to add too much or you'll end up with a super tacky face feel. Ask me how I know.

I know, I have the same desire for alcohol based splashes. We will see. This morning, I just slapped on Fine Platinum and after it dried down, I put on some moisturizer. Easy peezy.

Gents, I've found that one way of offsetting the drying effect of some splashes is by using a hint of a more heavy balm afterwards. For me just a couple of drops of Antica Barbieria Colla Apricot Hull will do the job of moisturizing the skin, in case the particular splash I'm using doesn't have any moisturizing properties. As always, I apply a proper moisturizer with SPF afterwards.
