I'm thinking of buying 15-20 bath soaps from an artisane.

Which artisane is your favourite, when it comes to bath soaps ?

My house has had nothing but Stirling in it for over a year now.

So far I've tried Stirling, Caties Bubbles, Mike's and Mystic Water and so far Stirling is my favourite of that bunch. I have several favourite soaps that I would say are not artisan made such as Lightfoot's Pine Athletic Soap, Pre de Provence, Speick and a few others. I like to mix it up soap wise which is why I'm not crazy about those jumbo bars - apart from being a hazard to your feet if you ever drop it, they last so long they are a commitment. I've had relationships that didn't last as long.

If you're interested in a cream vendor, I can't recommend Wm Neumann enough. They also make soaps, but I haven't tried them.

The creams come in large 8oz bottles with squirt pumps. One squirt and you have enough amazing lather for four or five passes. One bottle will last a really long time.

And the scents. Oh, the scents. Absolute Zero, 1911, Heartwood, 1907 and Old Fashioned Soda.

For reference, my other favorite creams are XPEC, baume.be, CF Lavander, and Esbjerg Orange Vetiver.

P.S. I should have read more carefully. For bath soap, I use Tabac and Mysore. Both are awesome, but I suspect neither qualifies as artisan.

stirling is the company I've bought the most bath soaps from. they work great, they're priced very well and they have an abundance of scents.

whole foods sells those monster bars that are like 6 or 8oz..they're ridiculous to use for like the first week or two. sad because they're sold at a great price and they have nice scents..

I have to say, Claus, that scent aside, the Stirling soaps feel great when I'm lathering my body and leave my skin feeling great.
