Vintage Shaver
Seattle, WA
After all the hype and hoopla, I had to try a Weber DLC. And for me it just wasn't great. It was good but not great, so I sold it. Eventually I thought that perhaps I just hadn't given it a fair enough trial, so I bought another one recently. Once again it didn't make the grade, confirming my first impression. It was not quite as smooth on my skin as the Delta Echo-customized Feather AS-D2 that I had sold to make room for it. So off it went to another shaver, and I've gone back to a coated AS-D2. Live and learn.

Tilt the handle on the razor you like to one side and go for it

Yup, I do that every once and a while with my "regular" DEs.  To be honest, I've got some highly efficient razors in my rotation (R41, Ikon Tech, ATT H2) that I can shave normally with and they do me just fine.

R41. I can appreciate aggressive razors but this was crossing into offensive.

Shaven in the Past
GEM G Bar. It was a real looker and gave a very close shave, but I sadly sold it because I didn't like the fact that I had to alter my shave angle.

I even do that with my straights. Careful though...too much angle turns a stroke into a slice...

The two razors I tried hardest to like were the Standard Razor and iKon 102 Slant. I gave each razor 2 weeks but could not get comfortable shaves on my neck area with either. The next razor I purchased was the Feather AS-D2 and the rest is history.

2 to add to the pile.

Megress. A nice razor that feels like its on the verge of slipping out of my hands, and the Parker was just off. The best case is the grip of the parker and the feel of the Megress.

The Asylum RX draws blood every single time. I love the shave but the days of suffering for a close shave are long gone. There are so many good razors out there that deliver the same level of shave without bloodshed.

So....that's actually three.

All are excellent razors, just not for me.
