3rd shave pass around was with the Dual Comb brass plate.
Setup was
A & E Kaizen soap
Feather blade (3)
DC brass plate

This shave was with one day of growth.
What really impressed me was how smooth the open comb was, very smooth.
I usually don't prefer OC plates/ razors with the exception being the Wolfman WR1 in OC.

I believe with this plate I prefer the OC side.
After about 12 hours give or take I did notice a little bit more grow back growth than the other plates which is to be expected.

Next shave will be the H vs EH plate shave off.

Last night  H vs EH plates

Soap: Wholly Kaw: Siero Base
Blade:  Gillette Platinum, unused
Razor: Yates H plate vs EH plate

The right side H plate
Left side EH plate

I don't usually shave one side against the other because I feel like the sides are not exactly equal in any one place.

Both of these plates are extremely smooth while I did notice the H plate like it had a narrower Power band/ effective cutting angle.

Strangely in the end I would say it was a toss-up  practically the same results even after 12 and 24 hours now.
I would call that shave a tie.

To me I think the EH plate is less picky about the angle, all the while the H plate might happen to be a tiny tiny bit smoother. Both plates are extremely smooth.

I have the same impression as you regarding the open comb. What a smooth feel. I checked to make sure that I was using the OC side!

This is quite helpful information as I have been waiting on the EH plate so that I can compare it to the two H plates razors I have.
Good to hear you are enjoying the razor.

My last shave with this pass around Yates razor was last night.

Razor: Yates Brass Hybrid, DC plate
Blade : Perma-sharp {gold pack} new
Soap: Grooming Department older Duck fat base
Pre shave: Grooming Department

This last shave I mostly use the Open Comb side with very little on the SB side of the plate.

It was a pretty good shave with several more swipes of the razor involved to cut the growth down.

This razor is extremely smooth, to me,  using it for the few days I have.
I think a lot of people will find this a very good fit for them, try it out guys.

It's about 12 to 14 hours later I felt  more regrowth than the H and EH plates were at about 12or so  hours.

I've got the Razor packaged up and ready to send to the next participant jesseix.

Thank you Jake YatesPrecision for this pass around opportunity and also including the EH plate into the mix, very nice.
Thank you also andrewjs18for your organization and getting that other plate, the EH, into the pass around

Thanks DFS

I’m looking forward to opening this up and will get right into it with today’s shave.

Alright so I'm 4 shaves in on the Yates, mixed feelings/results thus far.... I really like the color and finish, I've never been that turned on by high-polish razors and I dig the way this looks. Everything obviously snugs up nicely, no blade alignment issues or anything like that.

The long skinny handle is definitely a different feel, and it kindof seems like its affecting my ability to hold the right angle during the shave. On each of my shaves I've ended up on the cap a little too much at times and just totally whiffed a stroke, which actually made me laugh when it happens. My first 2 shave shaves were with the M plate: on the first one I think I used too much pressure, felt a little rough after. The second one was a lot smoother, I focused on no pressure and ended up with a great shave. I switched to the H plate for the next 2 shaves, and didn't love either one. I swapped in a shorter handle on the second shave to see if that made it feel more "intuitive", and I'm not sure that it did. I might try a lighter shorter handle as well to see if that makes it more balanced... but I ended up taking a day off from the Yates today and will try out the EH and hybrid starting tomorrow.

I won't really comment on the packaging much as you guys have all seen it, other than to say I like the individual little boxes for the different baseplates.
