That was a big point difference,. Timeless really put a whammy on mr. Jaws. I do have a Jaws that I have not tried yet. After I catch up on some other razors, I'll have to give it a good try and probably compare it to the GC .84.
I can see where the different shaving techniques with different people would make a difference, like the skin stretching you do, as you said, Frank.

Yes please use it and compare it to your .84 as I'm curious to see what you think if you do a side by side using both.

I won't go into a long explanation but when I went from a traditional long stroke, no pressure, no skin stretching to what I'm doing now it not only made a huge difference in the razors I was able to use ( meaning much more efficient/aggressive) without getting weepers or nicking myself I also was able to get the same or better results in 2 passes that it normally took me in 3 or more passes in come cases. It also basically eliminated irritation which I was getting on a regular basis. So yes my report on any razor using the SSSST may vary or be completely different than someone using a more commonly used technique.

Thank you for the input and great shaves my friend!

UPDATES:

So I have a couple of updates that I'd like to post up for those following. First off I apologize that it seems like it's been a long time since the last Shave Off I did but I had to go in for some surgery this past week and the Dr. explained to me things I could and couldn't do for a few days and the week that follows. So today some of the bandages come off. He had told me I couldn't get water on my face since the surgery was done on my nose which obviously took shaving right out of the equation.  So today I think I can finally get a Shave Off in.

Also we have 2 guest razors that I have to use quickly as they are both part of a pass around. They came to me from a member DanLaw and he messaged me a while ago about these razors after I was one of if not the first to sign up for the pass around and said he could send the package to me but I couldn't keep them any longer than Friday. The razors are the Haircut & Shave SS 17 4 SB and OC razors. He sent the OC and the SB and both with handles on them. I have to say when I opened the box I was impressed at the fit and finish immediately and I'd say that they are about as close to a Wolfman and the RS 10 as any modern day 3 piece razor that I've had in my hands in that area. In fact I put one next to my Paradigm 17 4 which has a very nice finish on it but the H&S razor was polished to brighter and even better finish in my opinion and this week I'll pull out my RS 10 and a Wolfman and put them side by side to see how they all compare. I know how the others shave so I'm excited to take both of these razors for a spin and I'm going to find out soon as I decided to do a Shave Off using both OC vs SB and see how that goes. Then whichever one gets the better score I'll do one more Shave Off putting it up against whatever razors name I pull out of the box. If the H&S wins and goes into the 2nd round then Dan said he could get it back to me when I need it for that round. I understand that a pass around razor has to be used right away when you get one so if any more show up during the entire Shave Off categories then I'll just place them up against a razor that I randomly pull from the box with the slips of paper with each razors name on it. This is the only way to keep these pass around razors moving to the next person.

This should be a fun Shave off and I'm happy I can finally get these whiskers off my face! I'll report the Shave Off results either tonight or tomorrow depending on how it goes and when I can write it up.

Great Shaves all

I'll try to do just that sometime in the not to distant future. I need to see if the GC and Jaws  are going to be used by me or if I'll pass them on. I'll make sure and get back with ya.

Have you ever compared Ikon Tech vs Wolfman 1.55 in the 1st Edition?
Just wonder which one you would find more efficient.
I can easily say Wolfman is much smoother but hard to say which one is more efficient.

Hello Scott

i honestly have not done a side by side but I know those two could possibly meet up in the Hyper Efficient Category in the future.

I've seen that the Ikon Teck as they call it now is once again available now so I think this comparison will come up. I can say from experience with both razors using aggressive Skin stretching I’ve gotten 1 pass BBS shaves from both.. also I once did a 3 pass Shave Off doing the same very aggressive SSST using both the Ikon Tech and 2011 R41 and it’s still to date the longest lasting BBS Level 3 shave I’ve ever gotten. If memory serves me right it was just over 30 hrs!  I can’t go over to B&B to find the exact time but I know it was 30 something hrs.

I now only do 2 pass 2 days growth Shave Offs but I’d be willing to do it again only this time with the WR2 1.55 SB vs Ikon Tech and do another 3 pass shave using the SSST and see how that goes.

Of course it wouldn’t count in the Hyper Efficient category in the Shave Off as any razors that meet up are judged on a 2 days growth, 2 pass Shave with normal skin stretching and no buffing. Hey they never meet up as you know I randomly pull the names out of a box.

The razor I’m dying to try that may exceed any of them is that Rocnel Sailor.. I’d try for a new record. Put that sucker on max and have a go at it. I know I’m a little crazy! but I like exploring uncharted territory. Lol

let me know my friend as I’m game.

I did get a comparison shave in between the Gamechanger .84 and .84 Jaws plate. Well in short the Jaws was a more aggressive, do to the feel of the teeth. In the end the shave was about the same as far as cut down of the whiskers. For myself I can't see any advantage to the Jaws over the SB Gamechanger, as the SB was so much smoother and at least as efficient.

UPDATE:

Hello all.

I just wanted to touch base with everyone in regards to this Shave Off which some members have contacted me about. I'll make this as short as I can. A couple of unexpected events have happened in the last couple of months. One was I had to have some last minute surgery that I didn't expect. Also as everyone knows we all have had to adjust our lives because of this Coronavirus which for me ment a bunch of changes in not only lifestyle but also in business. So as many of my wet shaving friends know I manufacture hair care products for my own company. I have a warehouse where inventory is kept and shipped out of. I also just recently started a Men's Grooming line which I'm sure a lot of you know from the shave soap section. Well I had to completely change my warehouse over to make room for a space to accommodate all I'd need to make the products. Which I aggressively did over a period of a few weeks. I also develop products for other companies and currently I'm developing products for a large CBD company.  Well after the Coronavirus hit I had to make a strong decision about my new men's grooming business and where I was going to make the products. So in the CBD facilities I work in a lab environment which is a very sterile environment and in fact the whole building in like that including even the shipping Dept because of the strict laws the FDA has on the CBD industry. So because of the sterile environment the owner suggestion with the Virus spreading that I move my Grooming business to their facilities so I would not be exposing myself to going out and traveling as much. So I made the decision to do this and it has been a real challenge once again moving a lot of what I had already set up at my warehouse for this project.  So that is the short story of why I have been pretty much absent in this thread. As most know it takes at least 2 hrs or more to do a complete Shave Off, take the photos and do the write up.  Well things are not back to normal yet as I just launched my men's line and I never expected such a overwhelmingly good response to the line and I'm swamped with orders and on top of that the owners of the CBD company decided to help our our community and especially our first responders and the people on the frontline. so I had to come up with a formula for a hand sanitizer in a short amount of time which we did do and this past week we made 10,000  bottles and this week we are making another 30,0000 and I'm proud to be a part of it.  So now that they can make the formula without my supervision I can focus on my own company and working out of the CBD labs I can more efficiently process my orders and I'm probably about a week or so away to getting back to a somewhat of a normal schedule so I can resume the Shave Offs and the first " Efficient Category " which is where we left off.  I will update everything and begin the Shave Offs again by next weekend. Also while this whole virus thing is going on I am going to limit the Shave Offs to once a week which is very doable until I feel I can add one more a week so I'm back to doing the normal 2 a week. I'm sorry for the lack of communication through all this but because I went from surgery and the recovery right to working 7 days a week to do everything I mentioned I've put every other thing in my life on hold. This week is the first week that I can honestly say I see things calming down a bit and once I get all these orders I got slammed with out for delivery I can take a deep breath and spend more time at home.

I sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding and especially to all the members who have reached out to me on here with supportive and encouraging words.

See you all in the next Shave Off.

Stay safe!

Frank
