DesertIguana that’s the wide version and as far as I know there’s no up-charge, just ask for it.

Maybe ev you can answer question is the Scaloping on Head an Extra Cost, and is this THE WIDE or NARROW VERSION?

THX.

That’s the wide. There’s no upcharge. The only variable is his mood, and work load. I’ve gotten way more custom stuff through recently after many orders.

Wide version?
Haven't heard of this... Is it mentioned on his website?

We are talking about the scalloped top cap. There's a wide and narrow version. The wide is made to fit the OC better and the narrow the SB but it's not set in stone. It's not mentioned on his web site as you need to ask Tara/James.

I doubt I'll ever choose this configuration...was just curious.
Does the "wide" modification apply to the length of the head or the width?
I just find it hard to imagine since I assumed all razor heads are designed around blade dimensions which are standard.

Width of the grooves in the topcap. Nothing to do with overall dimensions.

Reached out to James today, about the Groovy Top.

"wide options.  The WR1 has only the wide grooves.

The price is the same as a regular cap."

Was reply.

Thanks for clarifying...sounds purely cosmetic.
From an aesthetic POV though, I would have preferred the grooves covering the entire top cap surface.
So it looks like a uniformly sliced loaf of bread.

No problem! And I agree with you, that would look nice and uniform.
