RicOLEX good luck with decision. Not easy. I personally found best for daily 3 passes custom gap 1.10, not at level of Blackbird but much more easy for my skin. For very close shave I prefer Blackbird, for relaxed and fast shave with 0 irritations WR2 1.10
Lower gap didn't work for me, higher was too much for daily. As always YMMV...

You'll need at least a WR2 1.25 or 1.35 if you want to be similar to the Blackbird or Timeless 0.95. To me the WR 1.25 gives me the same result as the BB Ti but way smoother. 1.35 is also a great gap. That's as far as I can take a Wolfman with my beard/skin type. With that said, I much prefer the WR1. That's just my personal taste. The WR1 Ti .74 is equal to my BB Ti and also smoother.

This gap chasing will drive you nuts as you'll get so many different recommendations. Been there, done that.

My 1st impressions about WR2 1.55

Skipped one day to try 1.55 gap. It remind me R41 but smoother. No other razor from my little collection cut so, impressive immediate feedback. 2 days growth needed only 2 passes (WTG and ATG or XTG depend on location)

For me WR2 1.55 requires respect and very light touch, but reward with shave that most remind me straight. Nothing to fear, actually opposite. I definitely recommend to try

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on ATG shaving comparison of the wr1 vs. wr2? I have had a WR2 0.95 for several years that gets rarely any use.  I love to shave ATG and the WR2 just doesn't click with me like my Overlander. The Overlander is considerably more effortless compared to the WR2 even with the same blades. I am assuming its because of the geometry / blade angle of the Overlander but I don't know for sure.

Does the WR1 shave ATG better than the WR2 or the Overlander? I'm considering a WR1 in 0.48 gap.

LOVE my WR2 1.25mm... hopefully I get through on the list soon... would love to get a slightly smaller gap for a daily driver!

I've got 0.95 oc, 0.95 sb, 1.15 oc, 1.25 sb, 1.55 sb. 0.95oc and 1.15oc get most usage. Need to dump the others but they're all great razors.
