I’m just curious how bad it was. Not doubting you at all. In my case I can see some difference, albeit small, with my latest. There have been some off-hand comments here and there that suggest an increase in quality issues but (as far as I know) nothing to actually substantiate. So just wondering in general.

The WR2 Ti I received this month has zero play in the vertical axis (short side) and around 0.3mm in the horizontal axis.
Should have zero influence on the shave.

There is a small spot in the crevice on the underside that had probably a bit of polishing compound stuck inside, but it was easy to get out with a toothbrush.
Not really bothered about it.

Only reason I asked is because there are really never any complaints about Wolfman razors in general outside of the Guerrilla that was released a few years back. Reading of what a perfectionist James is, this is basically hard to believe to be honest but am keeping an open mind here and just wonder what was so bad you had to send it back to him!! I hope you get a favorable outcome here though...

I had read a few posts claiming the finishing was not up to par since James hired Joel. Months passed and when he announced Ti would be available in the new year I reached out and resurrected my postponed order. Ordered a 1.35 Ti SB in the brushed finish.

In all regards it is perfect, and surpassed my expectations. I'm not saying that there might not be some that go out under the radar with anomalies, but IME James is still king of the hill. Got the Ti stand as well, and it fits like a glove.

JimmyH yeah i can‘t say that James are not a True Master in his Artisan work . My Mirror WR2 1.55 was Back in 2019 really Perfect . Very tight tolerances Wink . Now i get an email from him that tight tolerances are a Costum Order not normal Smile haha . I think I offended James in his honour. That wasn't my intention at all . But for the Price i think it should be normal to get tight tolerances . That gives me personal a True Luxurious feeling.

I cannot disagree with you on tight tolerances being requisite at James's prices.

I picked up a Muhle Ti R-41 beautifully finished, and a Ti Blackbird individually each being less than half the price of my new Ti WR2.

TBH if this hadn't been a unicorn for me I'd have passed on the Ti Wolfman at the new price point.

When you come right down to it the WRs don't shave 'that' much better than the other usual suspects.

Hey !

My time has come up to order, I'm excited since I'll finally have a titanium WR2 Smile

For those who tried lower gaps than 0.95, what were your experiences ?

Regarding the handle, would you recommend me a Titanium WRH2 80mm, a WRH2 90mm or a WRH7 90mm ?

Thank you,

A

I like the concept of titanium so much more than the actual shave experience. It is too light for me, the exception being the larger and heavier Hone 15t. There needs to be more weight to let the razor do its work. That said, I am with JimmyH on the 1.35 gap!

I can't speak to lower gaps. The 1.35 is great, and so is the 1.55.

For handles I'd recommend the WRH7 100mm.

For my 1.35 I got a WRH7/3 hybrid @ 100mm and very glad I did. The whole razor is so light the extra handle length makes for a winning combination IMHO.
