How's it possible that I did not care for the 0.86SB but love this? Some questions,
like love, should not be probed so deeply, or they lose their allure.

I'm a strictly two-pass guy...and I usually follow up with an exclusive neck-only pass
(east-west)

The 0.94 is one of those razors that creates this vacuum suction kind of effect
on the cheeks....the only other razor that did this for me is the Blackbird SS.
The weight of this combo was exactly 85 grams and I used a very light touch,
with zero pressure, where the razor literally glides over the skin.

End result was fantastic...no nicks of any sort....very comfortable, no irritation.
The razor that comes closest to this one is the Blackbird, but I feel the 0.94 surpassed
the former by quite a bit, especially in the face feel department. And it is more efficient.

Blade feel: in no way did this razor feel intimidating, despite its caption of being the
most aggressive WR1 gap. My 1.35 and 1.55 exhibit more blade feel. I actually think the
0.94 might be as smooth as 1.35...but it's a different kind of face feel and smoothness.

This razor also extinguishes my desire to look at other new razors in the market that adopt
the sleek low profile head aesthetic...we know who they are , no need to stir up controversy.

I tried a once-used wizamet super iridium in this razor and both paired well. I was expecting this
razor to be in the WR2 1.35 ballpark and it did not disappoint. Loot said that both 1.35 and 0.94
get you to the same destination, but via a different route.

I can say, with utmost confidence, that with the 0.94, I really enjoyed the journey.

Kinda odd you didn't take to the 86 but like the 94. The 94 is a great head. Is that your first Darwin? Thoughts on the handle?

Anybody know when the exchange rate went from .7 to .82? I was just contemplating an order and was kinda shocked. I keep being told there is no inflation....can't be that.

Gotta agree with you on this one LOOT! I love my .86 just as much as the .94. In fact you are the one that convinced me to get both.

Put in my order December 5. Just got the email to proceed. Wr2 1.05 with a hollow wrh2 handle. Would’ve preferred a titanium or brass but oh well.

Have owned and sold all gaps between 1.05-1.35.

The 1.05 is the only one I’ve missed enough to reorder.

It is a bit odd...but as I said, these things be beyond us mortals to explain sometimes.

Re: Darwin. My very first drop order was a mirror polished one...loved it. It's true that
looks particularly fitting on the WR1, but it's not at all shabby on the WR2.

The most interesting part is this:
After the Darwin I started using the WRH7 XL (98mm) exclusively for 2 years.

Now, when I grab the Darwin, it seems rather dainty. Guess my fingers got used
to a handle with more presence.

So if you're using large handles as a rule, you might find a Darwin a tad small for your
tastes. He really should consider an XL Darwin...I would buy.

But as a handle designed to keep a razor's weight down, it excels.

Both in form and function.

I agree. I've had at least 2 and am considering getting another one now as an alternate. It is very small at the primary grip, in my hand. It's just such a great looking handle that every time I part with one, I pine for another.

I’m with you guys on this. I sold my Darwin handle because I thought it was too short. Beautiful handle and I do wish it came in a longer length. I know it’s sacrilegious to mention Stork on here but they made a polished titanium version in a 95mm length but I will never purchase anything else from them so you know the story! Moving on and waiting for James to make an XL version of it. I think it would be stunning in a longer length!

Thanks everyone who offered thoughts on my ordering dilemma.  Went with a WR2 1.15 SB and two handles - a WRH7Xl hollow and a WRH2 90 hollow. Figured it was time to try the WR2 and those two handles seem to get the most love here. Now, I just wait.....  thanks again

Another thing I'll say about the 0.94 WR1.
I don't know whats stopping James D from taking this gap up to 1mm
IMO it would be sweet... but I don't exactly know the science of these things.
Someone should ask him (nude nudge) Wink
