I really hope this both drastically reduces the wait time, but also brings the price down a bit for consumers. I'm lucky and super happy to have multiple Wolfman razors and despite the money and time involved in obtaining them, the WR1 and WR2 are my favorite razor designs. Nothing gives me as good a shave, so hopefully more people will be able to obtain them in the future.

Yeah wouldn't mind being able to get a stand without having to wait 6 months too

Polishing is one the things that separates Wolfman from other razors. Even his Basic Polish finish is superb. Glad I have my two WR2s that were made 100% by James.
James has a high standard so either the test pieces come back at least equal than his basic finish or lesser. My only concern would be to keep the QC to the same high standard as once you start outsourcing part of your manufacturing you need to be even more focused on QC when those pieces come back.
The only way to make this cost effective James would need to send out batches of razors to be polished industrially. It would make no sense to send out one or two razors at a time. So I don't know how that would eventually effect the waiting time in the long run. It could also mean a price hike on the basic finish because someone has to pay for the outsourcing but it would give James more time to focus on making razors and freeing that extra time he spends on hand polishing the basic ones.

"Simple: not to be confused with easy."

Long time lurker, first time post:

6 months to the day.
Went for the 1.35 SB / WHR2 (hollow) handle, basic polish on both, with a WRA1 stand.
My daily driver is an R41 (2013) / feather. It gives me BBS shaves (when the blade is fresh) but looking for something a little smoother without sacrificing too much efficiency.
This will be my first wolfman, looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone on this site for posting their experiences, it was helpful to narrow down the options.

Welcome to DFS and congrats on your new Wolfman. You made a great choice in gap. You will love it, I bet.

Guys thanks for putting your order times. I had a buddy that was due for his order, so I let him know your order dates.
His proceed email, had been in his spam folder since the 8th so I'll thank you for him also. Thanks

just received my 1.45 SB. This razor can really mow down any growth. Very smooth. Really have to have a good cream or soap otherwise will get a bit of razor burn. Could use this every other day. I also have a 1.15 which is great for everyday shaving. For some reason the 1.25 didn't work out - maybe a bit rough; but the 1.45 is something very special. Cheers!
