What about in the WR2 style? Im not sure which I want to get.

In WR2 I have a DC 1.15 OC/1.25 SB. I also have a 1.25 OC and a 1.55 SB. So I don't have a 'lower' gap. I do have a BBS-1, which is essentially the same design as the WR2, and it is a 1.00 gap. Going by that I would think a 1.05 or a 1.10 would possibly be the equivalent of the Blackbird, but I'm not sure. IIRC James classifies the 1.25 as slightly aggressive and the lower WR2 gaps as mild. I could be mistaken about that though.

I’m thinking more like 1.35 or above. I have used a 1.15 and found it very smooth but no where near as efficient as the BB.

For me my Ti BB is as efficient as a WR2 1.55 but feels more like a 1.45

Well seeing as how the BB is .58 gap I equate it with similarly 'small' gaps in the Wolfman corpus. I have postponed my opportunity for a few months now telling James I'm holding out for Ti if and when it ever becomes available again. If I order another WR2 it will be a 1.35 SB. I have a 1.55 SB in SS and it is awesome, but I don't compare the feel with the BB. The gap being so much larger, but the results are the same.

That’s what I was wondering. Maybe a wolfman just doesn’t have what I’m looking for. I wish the Ti BB would be available again. He told me April and that obviously came and went.

I just picked one up from a forum member, a Ti BB. I love the thing. I too was waiting impatiently but Shane is focused on this Blackland New Era project. He will probably be producing another run of Ti in the not too distant future. I figured I couldn't go wrong picking it up when I had the opportunity. If I didn't like it I could immediately flip it, but it is one I'm going to my grave with.  Smile

I've not run a BB and Wolfie side by side, that I recall. I think it is close to a 125. A 135 and 94 are similar, imo, and a BB isn't close to a 94 on my face....a 145/155 both cut closer than a 94.

i'm new in this DFS forum . I owned a wr1 DC .74 , WR2 1.15,1.45 and now i have and never sold my WR2 1.55 Wink My question is i want to order next time a Basic brushed finish and want to know if theres some drag in the shave feeling or feel the same as a Mirror or polished WR2 ?

Greets from Germany

My name should be coming up in the next
Couple of months, and I'm going for something
That's way different than my current Wolfman
Setup, which is a fantastic absolutely great setup,
I just love variety, right now I'm using a WR2 1.15
DC an actual Dual comb not a dual gap, dual comb
Really means OC on one side and SB on the other,
In basic polished with a WRH2  90mm hollow
This time I'm going for a WR2 DC 1.35 in basic
Brushed with a WRH2  100mm hollow handle.
My new choices have nothing to do with mildness
Or aggressiveness or efficiency I already have all
Of that so it has nothing to do with perfection or
Great shaves I assure you the WR2 1.15 can't be
Beat by anything in the Wolfman family and the
Wolfman for me is not consistently my favorite
That Status changes all the time.

Can someone else also attest to this, because that sounds amazing

Everyone is different but my titanium BB is about the same efficiency as my 1.35SB or 1.45OC. I don’t put it quite at the same level as my 1.55SB.

I just used a normal BB after a couple days with my 1.35. I found the BB to have a bit less blade feel, I was surprised. Efficiency wise, I’d put the 1.35 slightly ahead but by such a little amount it doesn’t matter.
