My name should be coming up in the next few
Months and I'm going to go for the basic brushed
Or the satin finish.
I already have a basic polished DC 1.15 and the
Finish didn't age too well it still looks presentable
But when set next to the handle the top cap looks
Kind of dull and even more so next to the bottom
Side of the baseplate. I've been told that brushed
Finishes in general are more susceptible to rust
& corrosion and satin also but too a slightly lesser
Degree. So to those who have brushed or satin
Have you had any such issues.

You could try a 1.35...for me it rivals the BB and is noticeably smoother and more comfortable.

Then, after you master the 1.35, try the 1.55 .... that's another path you can take.

I had 1.35, 1.45 and 1.55 at one time.

Sold the 1.45 as it was my least favourite....the 1.35 works a treat for more regular shaving,
the 1.55 steps in for the heavy lifting.

I’m a daily shaver so maybe 1.35 would be the sweet spot for me?

I am going to go against the grain* of what has become of this thread and say that, with use, you can get the job done as well and more comfortably with a 1.05. I am also a daily shaver, two passes and done. I don't really need anything more aggressive than a 1.05. A blade is a blade. If you learn the angle(s) at which it cuts best, I don't really see the need for higher gaps, unless you enjoy using them. This is particularly true for a daily, or even an every other day, shaver. I currently own WR2s up to 1.25 and WR1s up to .80. I used a very high gapped Ti WR2 for about a year. I feel no need to ever go back. If I kept only one, it would be the 1.05. I have never owned a WR2 .95 and I am wondering, with sufficient use, if that might do just as good of a job.

I shave daily with 1.55, no issues with irritation at all

Edit -- by the way I have pretty sensitive skin too. I think if you are not pressing down too hard it won't be an issue.

Brushed (basic/matte) finish fm Wolfman is a real workhorse.
It probably won't rust if you can and dry, and don't leave wet blades in overnight.

Interested in what you have to say about basic polished...does it really look like
shit after a few uses?

No it don't look that bad , it's only when
Compared to the smooth parts of the handle
A  WRH2 and in all fairness I've got far more
Than a few shaves on it.
I'm thinking of taking it to the Jeweler who
Polished my gold & diamond ring , but I'm
Looking at the basic brushed finish for my
Next Wolfman and wanted to hear from some folks
Who have been using the basic brushed and
If there's any signs of corrosion or rust after
Using it for many many shaves

I don't know about basic brushed, mine is new but I have an old premium matte brushed WR1 that has zero issues. I'm not the first owner.

Zero issues with rust. Excellent choice for a finish.

Now that is good news and I'm glad to hear it.

I think if a person takes care of a SS razor, Wolfman or other, I can't believe they would have a rust problem.
Not really sure how a razor is cared for to get rusty, probably not very good.
I dismantle any razor, mine, borrowed or a pass around, hot water wash and dry with an extra super soft micro cloth, leave apart to fully dry.
