So WR2 1.15 ended up being too mild. For someone who enjoys the blackbird blade feel and efficiency, what gap would you recommend? Thanks!!

Yep, I found the same. WR2 1.15 DC (SB/OC) was too mild. I should have bought 1.25 at least.
I've sold mine already! 
The ss Karve D (SB) would be similar.
I've moved on to Karve F and G plates, plus a Blackbird OC.
Still not quite 'there' yet.
I think the Muhle R41 stainless is looking like a better idea now.

Go direct to 1.55 SB and enjoy the blade!

Yeah I agree about 1.55 which is much easier on the face than a Karve D if you're wondering by the way.

Is that similar feel to the blackbird? That sounds intimidating lol. I was thinking 1.35 to 1.45. But maybe you are right. I’m consistently blown away by the blade feel and efficiency of the blackbird but the complete safety and zero issues with nicks.

1.55 sounds intimidating, but given the geometry of the WR2 head, it is surprisingly
harmless.

You could try a 1.35...for me it rivals the BB and is noticeably smoother and more comfortable.

Then, after you master the 1.35, try the 1.55 .... that's another path you can take.

I had 1.35, 1.45 and 1.55 at one time.

Sold the 1.45 as it was my least favourite....the 1.35 works a treat for more regular shaving,
the 1.55 steps in for the heavy lifting.

Yea you won't regret it....it is streets ahead of the 1.15 in the efficiency sweepstakes,
and just as smooth...blade makes its presence felt.

I am going to go against the grain* of what has become of this thread and say that, with use, you can get the job done as well and more comfortably with a 1.05. I am also a daily shaver, two passes and done. I don't really need anything more aggressive than a 1.05. A blade is a blade. If you learn the angle(s) at which it cuts best, I don't really see the need for higher gaps, unless you enjoy using them. This is particularly true for a daily, or even an every other day, shaver. I currently own WR2s up to 1.25 and WR1s up to .80. I used a very high gapped Ti WR2 for about a year. I feel no need to ever go back. If I kept only one, it would be the 1.05. I have never owned a WR2 .95 and I am wondering, with sufficient use, if that might do just as good of a job.

I used the 1.55 which was far and away the most efficient razor I've ever used, it wasn't like walking on eggshells, but it left my face very raw no matter what I did. I then traded down for a 1.25, which was still slightly too much for my face, but much better. The 1.05 would be a phenomenal daily razor with plenty of efficiency for a few days growth, but the 1.15 is my favorite, just perfect efficiency and so smooth. It doesn't feel to me like it would ever bite.
