I would look for an older one but I also want it to be hollow. That forces me to a new one.

Good point, so the hollow handles came in with the new finishes? Always wondered about that.

3-piece.
The 2-piece one is the #44 I think...they say it's similar but I haven't tried it.

Question for those who have a wrh2 handle in basic brushed.  Are you happy with the finish?  Do you wish you paid more for the upcharge satin?  I have other handles with basic brushed and I am okay with their look but wonder if the wrh2 style might benefit from the extra attention.  Thoughts?

I find that the more knurling the handle has, the less consequential the finish is for me.

On a handle like WRH7 (which for me is the only handle good enough to go with wolfman ....yes I know, here I go again)...the finishes really come to the fore since there are a lot of smooth areas, free of knurling.

I have actually been using a 1.15 SB for the past week or so and I have come to like the WR2 head design a lot more than I had previously. The 1.05 was not quite enough, but the 1.25 was maybe a hair much, this is just perfect for me. Not as responsive or honest as the WR1, but so smooth and a bit more forgiving for its efficiency level. Really enjoying switching between them every couple shaves.

This is a good gap no doubt, and one that I have lived with for 6 months.

Smooth and mid-efficient for my mug....very good daily driver. Loved it.

I'm happy to inform you that the Gillette #77 RFB (OC) made in UK
gives this WR1 gap  a damn good fight. In my book, it even wins.

2pc. Get the 44 so you change handles. I love the British Gillette 3 pc razors.

The RFB is one unfortunate situation where Gillette used the same name (or set number) for different razors. At least according to Mr. Razor, there are #77 sets and #44 sets that include two-piece RFB razors and other #77 sets and #44 sets that include three-piece RFB razors.

As an aside, I just used a 3 piece RFB that I received two days ago. It definitely is a competitor to my modern razors.

I've asked this question on another forum and didn't get but 1 response so thought I'd ask here... Can someone tell me the diameter dimensions of James's handles? Someone replied on the other forum that the WRH2 and WRH7 are 14.2mm but would also like to know for the WRH1 also...

WRH1 - 13.96.. at the knurling
WRH2 - 14.28mm
WRH3 - 14.28mm
WRH7 - 14.26mm at the base. I didn't check but I think that is the widest part.

A 7XL - 15.46mm just for reference.
