I know that this is a wr2 discussion, but I have to say that I love the 0.86 SB I recently received. Thanks to those who recommended it.
I think Wolfman fans would do themselves a favor to try a WR1 someday. I may end up ordering a 0.94 when my turn comes up again Smile

The thin profile of the WR1 head makes it a different and very nimble razor - even more than the WR2 or a CG razor

I like both equally well. WR1 .074, 0.86, 0.94 ... WR2 1.15, 1.25 and 1.55.

Nice having an assortment depending on the day, my mood ... All are great shavers.

.74 WR1 DC was my first Wolf and I probably will never sell it. I now only use my 3 WR2’s though. I did submit a new order form recently for a WR1 DC .94/.86.

That’s good to hear! I love my WR2 1.25. I used it this morning and had a lovely shave with it. My next order is for a WR1, thinking a .74 or .80. I’m sure there are others besides myself considering the WR1 who appreciate the feedback too.

This is what draws me to the WR1 although I'm going for a way milder gap than most. .86 and .94 sounds like a lot of blade. Moreso than my Nodachi it would seem.

Well really, the WR2 is only minimally heavier than the WR1. For someone looking for a smooth experience with little blade feel, the WR2 is the one. I have only tried the WR1 in .74, and it certainly requires a lighter touch than the Nodachi you mentioned. From the many accounts of the higher gapped WR1‘s being smoother, my guess would be that the lower gapped ones actually present MORE blade.

For you, WR2 1.05 seems about right.

I am in the minority. I do not find the wr1 smoother as the gap grows at all. The .67 was probably my fave although the standard .61 got the job done as well.
