My WR2 1.55 arrived today, can’t wait to take her on her maiden voyage  Big Grin.

Excellent news.  I anxiously await a shave report.
How did you like the 1.55, Hunter TheHunter ?

I had a great Shave with the 1.55. It took down two days of growth with ease, and was even smoother than I remembered. I’m really glad to have added this one to the Den, I feel like I’ve got a nice range of blade gaps that will cover any of my needs. After using the 1.55, I had a solid 14 hour BBS Shave before I felt even the slightest bit of growth. What a great Shaver, love it!

Eggggcellent! I figured you'd enjoy that one. Handsome brush too. Looks like an awesome shave. Congrats again on the new razor.

Unless you own another WR2, it IS the best razor that you have.  Happy2

I cracked open a new Gillette Platinum for the 1.35 today and it was superb.
An extremely underrated blade.

I tried a Kai (yesterday) in my WR2 1.15 DC.
That was a harsh shave...not the usual smoothness I'm used to.
Was not happy at all around my chin.
Checked the blade, and razor. Everything was as it should be.
Did a quick swap...put the Kai into the stainless Karve #D plate...and now I had a smooth shave.
Put the Minora from the Karve into the WR2 and the shave was back to being smooth again.
I'm guessing that the WR2 1.15 is slightly 'blade forward'?
The Kai is wider and thicker (so I have read on some forums). Maybe the slightly wider blade increases the blade feel? Makes the razor more 'blade forward'.
I've never measured a Kai but just today was told by a member who has, that they are thicker (and a Feather is thinner), than other blades.
Has anyone else tried a Kai in the WR2? What gap is your WR2?

Kai is wider but not thicker. Urban legend. It measures exactly as specified by Kai at .004", slightly thinner than Feather, Nacet, and a number of other blades.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if blade exposure on the WR2 increases with an increasing gap? Or does exposure remain constant and only the blade gap increases? I'm trying to figure out how the 1.55 WR2 can be both as efficient and as smooth as it is. It doesn't make any sense to me. Like Tester28 said in the past, it's sorcery Lol.

I’m finding my 1.25 SB really ideal right now. I’m contemplating a 1.35 or 1.45 but not sure which way to go. I don’t want to stray too far from what I know I’m liking right now ...but want to find that upper limit of smoothness and comfort. As far as efficiency goes the 1.25 is working fine so I don’t need anything out of my next razor in that department. It’s all a feel thing at this point but I’m not looking to venture into a gap that may leave me raw. Not sure which way to go..

I regularly cycle between 1.35/45/55 and, going purely by memory, there are very subtle differences between how they present
themselves to my face. You certainly experience the effect of the increased gap (longer BBS results as you go up). However, the blade feel
differences are less obvious (probably microscopic). Which, I suspect, is what contributes to the heightened smoothness at any gap.

As all three gaps are in different materials/finish, it is hard to say that my experience will apply consistently to all.

The Ti 1.55 throws the whole comparison askew, because it feels so wonderfully efficient, yet uncharacteristically smooth compared to SS.

Try shimming. While not optimal, it can provide a quick and dirty framework of how well a larger gap would suit a person
