Thanks. Unfortunately, I haven’t worked through that many (or any of your stated) razors yet, and in many cases the comparisons in threads are lacking critical information on how one shaves and the desired shave result.

Oh well, I guess now I have a reason to go do more first degree “research”. Smile

Timeless 0.95 OC is on my wish list and I would like to try an E or F base plate for Karve since the D is working well for me. Based on what I have read, I have at least 10 months until my spot, so plenty of time to dig myself deeper into this hole.
When did you put in your google form order ... what date ? Curious as to how you come up with ten months.

Living on the edge
A recent comment I read made me wonder if the WR2 head could be better understood,
not in terms of numeric gaps, but by the hours of BBS results they provide.
I know this could end up providing inconsistent results since:

1. different people have different rates of beard re-growth
2.  no one person has each and every head in this range, both in SS and Ti.
3. even if they may have tried each and every head at some point, they may not have recorded their findings

However here is my assessment of the 1.55 WR2 in Ti.
It has been 19 hours since I used it to get an absolutely pristine and super smooth BBS.
Passing my hands over my face WTG, there seems almost nothing to shave.
When rubbing my hands ATG and XTG over areas like upper lip, neck, cheek and jaw
barely reveals just the beginnings of a little stubble. In another 8-10 hours, there may be
some growth but it would be an easy job for even a modest gap of 0.95 or 1.05.

While I may never have put the thought to "paper", I kinda thought this is exactly what we were talking about. All BBS shaves are pretty much equal....where they differ most is in longevity. The longer it lasts, the softer the initial skin feel, although the differences are not real dramatic.

I can get a perfectly acceptable 2.5 pass BBS shave out of my .80OC that lasts 8-9 hours....or I can use a 94OC and get on that last maybe 12-13 hours...and, as you've so eloquently observed, you can be damned near BBS for a full 24 hours with a 155.

The one thing a 155 will do that the 80 won't, is put a one pass BBS on me. I don't do this often because I'm lazy in focusing on my beard map....and I enjoy the process of a 2.5 pass shave. It's hits all the weird hair growth directions...and I don't rinse $25 of my $30 soaps down the drain. slight exaggeration.

Good thoughts the Mr. T

Who? The person who cares enough about getting his order correct the first time to do some homework? I dunno....if I knew I only got one chance to get it right, I'd read all 238 pages a couple of times...prolly take some notes too.

This thread is the best resource on the web for Wolfman info. The second best thread is also on this forum but it is WR1 related. I'd read that thread too and try to decide which head would be best for my face and shaving preferences.

I agree 100% with LOOT.

Little old me has read every page in this thread, and some of it more than once.

You might say this thread is the Wolfman subforum ...  Smile

I received my order confirmation from James today.
Went with the WR2 1.15 OC, but...is that a good choice re smoothness?
I'm on 'another' forum and was told that the SB is a lot smoother than the OC.
Is that right? Most of my razors are OC, but I don't like 'harshness' or 'scrapy' feeling when I shave.
I could maybe change to DC but I really like OC's.
How do the two styles compare? Big difference or just a little?
Thanks.

I heard the same thing, so I ordered the 125 SB. I usually prefer OCs, but I do like the SB, so I don’t regret choosing it over the OC.

I found the 115OC tolerable. The 125OC is harsh and sharp feeling and I didnt care for it at all. In either gap, I saw no difference in efficiency between the two either. SB only for me in the WR2 head. There are guys on here that love those SS OCs tho. I know that doesn't help.

At first, I was SB only in WR1 but have swapped those to OC. OC is my preference in that head, in any gap.
