I shaved only 3 times, with different blades. I will try different options. I don’t understand just one thing. Why is it so hard to buy. The rest are sold freely.
It is hard to buy because James Dufour works alone producing them, he is a perfectionist, and when the first mirror polished examples came to the fore they were unique in the quality of workmanship, and they were/are great shavers.

Word on the shaving forums spread, and more people wanted them than production could satisfy.

FWIW, different strokes for different folks, but Wolfman razors shave better for me than the other available stainless artisan razors I've tried, and that is most of them. Charcoal Goods is right up there with it, but no others. YMMV.

I also wasn't too crazy about the WR2 initially. My feelings were similar to yours. Then I tried a 1.25 and I started liking a lot. Then I tried a 1.55 and it's now my favorite razor ever.
I'm also a big timeless fan (titanium 0.95SB), but my 1.55 is just better for me in every way.
I'd suggest you trade for higher gaps and keep trying.

Just keeping you honest and that doesn't get old.
Now you can move on and I'll do the same.

For those of us that don't have friends with Wolfman razors, this is a point of angst. Order and pray you chose the right blade gap. Ah well. First world problems.

Another avenue is this thread, among others. Starting at the beginning, and slogging through to the end. There are many reviews and comparisons given. If a shaver has been at it long enough, and knows some of the other well known razors, and their characteristics according to gap/exposure, he can have a good idea of what will work, and what won't.

For my particular physiognomy Timeless .95, Charcoal Goods Lv 3, Karve F OC, G SB, WR1 .86 OC, and WR2 1.25 OC, or above, is where I like to be.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I haven’t worked through that many (or any of your stated) razors yet, and in many cases the comparisons in threads are lacking critical information on how one shaves and the desired shave result.

Oh well, I guess now I have a reason to go do more first degree “research”. Smile

Timeless 0.95 OC is on my wish list and I would like to try an E or F base plate for Karve since the D is working well for me. Based on what I have read, I have at least 10 months until my spot, so plenty of time to dig myself deeper into this hole.
