certainly in relation to the ever expanding Wr2 blade gap options...... Then no one would own a 1.55.......... Cool
Actually, to bring it back down to earth ... I forget who the member was, but he asked for a gap above the 1.55. James responded that he would have to redo his machinery to go any higher than the 1.55, and isn't prepared to do that at this time. We've been making small steps, but we're not ready for the giant leap.  Smile

When I asked him most recently if he could go any higher than the 1.55 on the WR2 head? His exact words were at this time it is the highest gap I’m offering. That was it. I didn’t ask for  any further info on why. That statement by James about redoing his machinery coordinates with another message he sent to me when I asked him for something custom to be done on my Ti razor. His response was that his waiting list is a mile long and at this time he’s not doing any custom work. He did add maybe in the future when he gets caught up he’ll add it as an option.
I feel like his wait list is never going to get smaller. I would imagine most people are placing another order once they receive their razor, not to mention all the new people coming into this hobby.

At this rate, Tara is going to have to start helping out with machining very soon.

Regardless, the wait list will move along, and now that he has a secretary to handle communication and shipping he'll have more time to devote to production. It should move a bit faster.

I was greeted to a pleasant surprise in the mail today.  My WR2 showed up and I didn't even know it had shipped yet.  I ordered a 125 SB with a 80mm WRH1 with WRH2 knurling in the basic polish.  I can tell the difference between the basic an mirror polish on my WR1, but that is looking at it closely.  The basic polish is still nice and the mirror polish is not worth the extra money to me, but that's just my opinion.  I'm looking forward to tomorrow's shave.

Thanks. I only have one shave with it, but I can give some initial impressions. There is not much blade feel. I kind of wish I had gotten the OC so it would have a little more. For comparison, there is less blade feel than the Karve F plate, Timeless 95 OC, and Charcoal Goods L2. It probably has the least amount if blade feel of any if my razors. That being said, I would put the efficiency equal to the Blackbird and Karve F plate, but less aggressive.

I have a WR2 1.15/1.25 0C/SB and I find it a great shaver. I also have a 1.25 OC and it is great too. Blade feel is there, but they are so smooth. The Karve F OC, and G SB are certainly aggressive and have blade feel, but not nearly as smooth IME.

I agree.  The Karve was not near as smooth for me.  I had trouble getting a first pass without tugging.  I did not have that issue with the WR2.  I also like the feedback of the WR2 vs the Karve.  The Karve was really quiet for me, but the WR2 provided feedback similar to a Charcoal Goods.

Since everyone loves how smooth this razor is, I was curious if the smoothness was dependent on blade selection? What blades work best for you all in your WR2s?
