A good Friend of mine loaned me his Wolfman Ti WR2 1.55 SB with XL WRH2/3 Handle. The largest gap WR2 I had shaved with prior to this was 1.35 in SS as well as in Ti. I had no issues shaving with the 1.55, I shaved with it just as I would with the 1.15. I did a full three pass Shave with no nicks or weepers. My Shave lasted a full 16 hrs. before I started to feel any stubble. I don’t know if I’d be able to handle a 1.55 in SS, but the Ti was outstanding with the ‘soft’ face feel I’ve come to expect. The 1.55 was very efficient as well as being very smooth. I wouldn’t be able to shave with this one every day, but for two or three days growth no problem. I look forward to putting more time in with this one, such a beautiful piece.

I haven't used any Wolfman Ti before, 1.55 TI might be better. But I can say that it is very easy to handle 1.55 SS, too.

I would certainly like to give one a try some day.

this thread should be renamed the Wolfman Large Gap Fanboy Club! Can't wait to see a WR2 2.00 gap. Well I guess I am one of the lone voices in the large gap forest. Just received a WR2 1.05 SB yesterday. What a fantastic smooooth shave. This will make a superb daily driver. Wolfman's basic polish finish is very very well done indeed!

As Confucius said:

The 0.95 wonders what 1.05 feels like

The 1.05 wonders what 1.15 feels like

The 1.15 wonders what 1.25 feels like

The 1.25 wonders what 1.35 feels like

The 1.35 wonders what 1.45 feels like

The 1.45 wonders what 1.55 feels ike

The 1.55 has no reason to wonder.

It is the wonder.

doesnt work like that.
what doesn't exist, the eye doesn't see
what the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't crave.
That was Confucius' nephew btw....Lao Tzu

Not quite accurate,
The 1.05 did not exist when the .95 was released
The 1.15 did not exist etc etc
Only by the shavers hearts craving did these razors come to exist,
By following Lao Tzu no physical/material progress would be made,
certainly in relation to the ever expanding Wr2 blade gap options...... Then no one would own a 1.55.......... Cool

Actually, to bring it back down to earth ... I forget who the member was, but he asked for a gap above the 1.55. James responded that he would have to redo his machinery to go any higher than the 1.55, and isn't prepared to do that at this time. We've been making small steps, but we're not ready for the giant leap.  Smile

Well, the heart can crave all it wants...but he has categorically said he won't go over 1.55 because there simply isn't
any material for him to achieve this.

Anyway my point wasn't about how razors come to exist...
It was about something entirely different.

When I asked him most recently if he could go any higher than the 1.55 on the WR2 head? His exact words were at this time it is the highest gap I’m offering. That was it. I didn’t ask for any further info on why. That statement by James about redoing his machinery coordinates with another message he sent to me when I asked him for something custom to be done on my Ti razor. His response was that his waiting list is a mile long and at this time he’s not doing any custom work. He did add maybe in the future when he gets caught up he’ll add it as an option.
