Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

The last four mornings, I've used my new WR2 1.35 OC. This morning, I switched to my trusty R41, the 2011 version, one of my most blade-forward razors (along with the Ikon Tech), for a comparison.

I immediately noticed that, in fact, the R41 2011 is more blade forward than my 1.35 OC. It's too early in the day to determine whether today's shave will last longer than those with the 1.35, but immediately post-shave, the R41 seems a bit closer than the 1.35 (which may be due to the fact that I'm very familiar with the R41, while the 1.35 has only been used four times). The 1.35 is a smoother shave experience, for me. It's early, but I suspect I may ultimately buy or swap for a 1.55 OC...

Stainless. For some reason, I have no interest in titanium.

Every day, three passes, except when I am out for vacation (like today).
My hair indeed grows in a many weird directions and I also use fairly weird variety of strokes.

Consider adding a shim or 2 to increase the efficiency

I've no experience with adding shims, but it is a good idea. Especially to determine which gap suits you best if you're planning on another order. So I would suspect using a specific known size shim stock would be the order of the day. Perhaps automotive feeler gauge stock ?

If you snip off the sharp edge of a DE blade, 1 blade is approx .1004 increase in gap

Here is a quick shim example, good scissors will do the trick, handle with care..

This is what I've been saying. For me the 1.45 WR2 is not as blade forward as the R41 in my opinion, and I doubt the 1.55 would be either. As one who enjoys efficiency & blade feel, this is why I'm glad to have a 0.94 WR1 OC on the way Looking forward to lining it up against the other razors I've tried.

I wonder how many shims LOOT will slip under his 1.55?.....
1.65.....1.75.....1.85.....

Guys, I want to try this. So, I cut off the edges on a de blade and do I place that blade below or above the "cutting" blade? I want to simulate a 1.05 gap in my .95. I guess I use one "snipped" blade. Then when loading into the top cap on a wr2, I first load the "snipped" blade, then the "cutting" blade, then the bottom plate? Thanks.

NJDJ put the cutting blade in Top Cap first then the shim the shim should be between the baseplate and the cutting blade
