I’d love it if occasionally I can get back that perfect fresh polished finish since it’s so flawless...it also wouldn’t force me to baby these things as much. I know minor surface abrasions are part of the deal eventually even with light use and good care...but that perfect finish just adds to the experience for me. I’m going to fire off an email and see if he responds.
With the exception of the point under the base plate, where the handle tightens, I've gotten zero scratches, abrasions, what have you, on my Wolfman razors, or any other stainless polished razors. I just rinse, wipe, and put them away in a safe place.
All of mine that I have ordered direct are still in impeccable shape...and I only use a toothbrush and Dawn at each blade change and never take the blade out between shaves. I have come into possession of others that had previous owners that do show some minor wear. The polished surface can be deceiving at times because from some angles it can look perfect but if you get up real close at different angles you can sometimes see some minor stuff. Either way I don’t think there’s anyone in the business that can do a finish like James can, and if he offered the service I’d definitely take him up on it.

Italian Barber looks about to release a DE razor that judging from the description and the name, Lupo, appears to be a Wolfman knockoff for $29.00.  I’m skeptical. I’ve got several of the razorock/IB razors he’s made over the years and they’re ok but I don’t think they’ve ever lived up to the superlatives used in the marketing pitch.  Maybe this time...

The RR is aluminum, so I’m not too interested.

I am sort of shocked that no one has made an exact replica of the WR2 head yet. I know a guy who sent an Abel 3N fly reel to Korea and had some engineers replicate it. It used to be an expensive, high end fly reel in its day. The Korean guys absolutely nailed it. This dude had them make a bunch and he sold them for half the price of the real thing. He sold just about all of them. And that’s a performance-oriented product with mechanical parts. How hard could it be to copy a DE razor head down to the smallest detail? I’m guessing it’s easier than copying a reel.

Then, offer it with an easy handle to replicate, like the WRH1. Sell it in two gaps. It seems like easy money to me, but maybe I’m wrong.

I would not be interested, much less buy a replica of a Wolfman ....

Just as I never thought of buying the Merkur Futur replica ...

The Dovo boss has said on a guided tour that the sales figures of the future have gone up since the clones started - because people are hooked and want to get the original.

Quick update.  I ran the 1.45mm SB for 7 consecutive days and 9 days of 11.  I used GSB, Astra and Feather blades.  I used 3 different handles (Darwin, hollow 7XL, and the 100mm WRH1). I limited shaves to 1.5 passes and got 90+% BBS on my face and jawline. No blood. No irritation. No problems.

The single Feather didn't yield the same increase in efficiency it generally imparts on the lower gaps.  So, I'll stick with more comfortable blades.

Again, don't be spooked by the large gap.  The shave is just as comfortable as a 115 albeit with more blade feel.  Speaking of, blade feel is comparable to a WR1 86SB.  The head at least maintains it's smoothness through the gap.

I am coming around to like the Darwin handle.  I'd like it better in a XL configuration with a larger diameter at the primary grip, but I can adapt.

That gap looks huge ! The WR2 gaps have convinced me that I don't understand DE razor geometry. Life was so simple in the old days ... larger gap equaled more aggressive, less smooth ... a new paradigm with the WR2

+1. If it ain't the original I don't want it. Not fair to James for one thing, and not the Real McCoy for the other.
