Lol exactly. The people buying up multiples and giving that advice are the ones preventing you from getting your first.

James only allows single razors per drop. You can’t buy multiples.

I know that. I mean people that already have multiple razors that keep buying them on different drops resulting in them selling out preventing others from buying their first.
Look I don't have a horse in this race. I'm happy with the WR-1 that I have and probably won't get a WR2.

Gotcha. Yeah I think most folks get multiple gaps. I do, and would again. James does have rules in place to allow new folks to have a shot. That’s why you can’t re order for 30 days after you get a razor.

Most people aren’t successful on the drops for a lack of the 3 things I shared above. One guy made a spreadsheet of all the drop dates and times and he can get pretty close to knowing when it’s going to happen.

Just takes more work and prep than picking up a super speed off eBay. Some are ok with this and embrace the thrill of the hunt, others come up with reasons why it’s not fair they can’t get one and lots of folks are in between. All good.

I can confirm that James strongly believes in keeping his store open to new customers
and, truth be told, he does not appear too thrilled about the same people buying every time.

But then, maybe he shouldn't make such good razors that make customers want more Smile

I think he's set up a fair system where everyone is equal. The website opens and it's first come first served.
No one can complain about that. Two months ago, I didn't even know about Wolfman.....but when I did,
I spent some time studying the buying system and figuring how to get in on it.

Anyone who wants one bad enough will find a way.

Just to say that many people also buy directly from James.
Funny thing that this thread is going on thanks only to the same people. One day I won't be surprised if X will ask Y a question Z while X himself will answer his question Z Smile

So who is who in this?

Also I’m super confused about your post in general. Doesn’t everyone buy direct from James?

Also I’m not even going to pretend to understand what all the letters and questions mean.

skill - when the drop happens, being able to navigate the choices and menus quickly. Knowing when to start watching based on the shipping status of the last drop.

Luck - right place right time.

Group - having other friends looking that will shoot you a text or message if they catch it open. The bigger the group the better the odds.

Good luck!

How can I get in on this group. Really craving a ti.

I'm confused by your post too.
1. A lot of users (many of those who bought razors in the past and kept in touch with him) send an email to James and buy directly;
2. About X, Y, Z: X is the first user, Y is a second user, Z is X' question(s). X asks questions - Y can't answer - X replies questions. Funny.

That’s no secret. He even states on his website that occasionally orders will be taken by email.

People are funny, no doubt about that.

Do you have any wetshaving buddies? There isn’t one group - there are MANY! Get a group of wetshaving friends together and start a messenger group on FB or a text group. Keep one another in the loop with drops of all sorts. Take shifts to check wolfman etc etc!

I messaged a forum guy last year....a guy who was starting to populate his collection with high end stuff around the same time I was. We formed a "partnership" of sorts. He was the reason why I got my first WR1. I was the reason why he got his first WR2. And there have been other razors, brushes, soaps, etc. along the way. Sometimes you only need one other person. The more sets of eyes, the better, but you have to start somewhere.
