The WR1 is an outstanding Razor. I especially like the larger blade gaps, they’re just as smooth but more efficient. I’ve used an .80 and an .86 in the WR1 SS, both OC and SB, and they were great Shavers. I also have a .86 SB WR1 in Ti, and it’s every bit as efficient but with a ‘soft’ face feel. I love it, it’s one of my favorite Razors. A good friend of mine just sent me his .94 in Stainless, so I haven’t shaved while I await it’s arrival, looking forward to it. The WR1 is definitely no slouch, and is one of my all time favorites as far as design and shaves I get out of it. Mine won’t ever be leaving my Den.

Besides the consistent blade feel when using the wr1, do you guys prefer the WR1 over the WR2? What is your go-to blade when using wolfman razors?

How big of a performance difference is the .80 from the .86? Is it kind of like the difference between the WR2 1.05 and 1.15?

I don’t prefer one or the other. They are both great, just different. That said, if I had to keep only one, it would be the WR2.

Agreed.  If I were forced to pick a head, I'd go WR2.  They are more comfortable and forgiving, even though the WR1 looks better and has a lighter head.

If I were ordering my first WR2 it would be a 115SB, no question.  That razor is is better than 90% of other premium razors and their out of production brethren.  If I added a 125, I could likely cover the other 10%.

I would probably do the exact same thing. I sort of did that with mine, but with double combs/gaps. It's pretty much liking variety which makes me keep the WR1/Darwin. It's nice change of pace razor.

Living on the edge

I started off coveting a 0.91/0.94 WR1 but now Im also considering a WR1 0.74 DC

But I cant really think objectively until I use the WR2 1.15 which should be with me any day now.

My collection of Wolfies have included
BBS1
WR1 DC .61, .74, .86, &.94
WR2 DC 1.15, 1.25OC/ 1.35 SB
The WR1 .74 and the WR2 1.25 were Ti
After experimenting with them all the BBS1 works the best for me as a daily driver, closely followed by the .74. If I have a 2-3 day beard the .94 works best for me. I have kept the .61 as it was bought for me by my Son in Law and it is great for a quick shave. The Ti 1.35 WR2 was a very smooth shave but the shave lasted too long and messed up my nightly shave routine.
They have all been beautiful razors but as I have cleared down my collection the BBS1 has become my go to razor. I sold the WR2’s to friends in our community along with the .86 WR1.

That's interesting what you say about the shave from the 1.35 "lasting too long." I get that with my 1.25/1.15 sometimes. It's not a huge problem for me, but sometimes I adjust the times of my shaves accordingly.
