The Titanium was my first experience with James' brushed finish.  Everything prior was polished SS.  The brushed is very nice.  It can be used and not show soap scum or glue dots like polished.  It's still there, just no where near as noticeable as a polished finish, obviously.  Unfortunately I have no other brushed Ti examples to compare.

Oh yeah, it's definitely a beauty!
Is the one on the left SS?

Yes sir. 94SB on a solid 100mm WRH7. It's a rather sizable chunk of steel. People pay good money for deltoid workouts like that.

The following are a couple excerpts from some correspondence between James and myself, regarding polished vs. brushed titanium. It certainly changed my outlook on it. I was always a polish guy with titanium but he changed my mind with the following:

One way to think about this, is that if someone (say a malicious competitor) were to take close-up photos of a polished titanium head of mine, it would be awful looking. My response would be that the customer asked for this, against my recommendation. I'd prefer to only offer polished on stainless steel, because the results are much better.

Just to fill in a bit more of the picture: the polishing I'm doing gets to about 80 percent fairly quick and easy. Spending more time gets to higher levels, and both stainless and titanium can be over-polished if you're too aggressive, setting you back. I'm basically agreeing to, let's say, 85 percent. I used to keep working and working to get in the 90s (which I can do with stainless without concern that I'll get there) but titanium only gets to maybe 90. That last 5 percent takes a long time, and the result is still only 90, too low for my liking and yet more costly. So I'm done with that and I'm talking the customer into brushed or it's 85.

I wonder if this is the reason Timeless doesn't offer a polished titanium razor either.

Great explanation as I was going to ask for a titanium polish on my next purchase. I love the look of brushed stainless steel and prefer it to polished but I don’t really like the look of brushed titanium on other razors. Guess I will like it on a titanium Wolfman though.

Yeah James explained the same thing to me. And I basically thought 85% from James=120% compared to any other razor out there. So I got my 85% polished titanium which looks absolutely stunning. My plan was to spend some time on it with my Dremel and Menzerna yellow polishing compound, which is what I used for my titanium timeless, kind of stuff jewellers use for fine polishing. However when I got it I thought there was nothing I could do to better it. James is very demanding, that’s why we love his razors.
It is true thought that 316 is much much easier to polish. With titanium you end up with tiny almost invisible swirl marks, and it takes forever to get rid of them. Most people wouldn’t notice them, unless they are a bit OCD like me

There are many different types and grades of Titanium. I believe Timeless uses Grade 2 or "pure titanium' and Wolfman uses mainly Grade 5 alloy
(Ti-6AL-4V).

There is a huge amount of information regarding Titanium and Titanium alloys, it would behoove someone to research this subject. Here is a link to a Titanium Comparison table to get you started:

I have only the Wolfman brushed Ti and it is an it an awesome finish. It actually has some shine to it. Other Ti products that have a brushed finish actually look dull. Happy with my Wolfman Ti brushed.
