Ive parted with a lot of razors lately and the only ones standing on the shelf are a CG Level 2 SB and a WR2 1.15SB.

In my experience, the WR2 1.15 takes everything the CG2 does and dials it up a couple of notches. I agree with JimmyH that the Level 2
struggles a bit with 3 days' growth...for me, the WR2 doesn't. When I receive my WR1 86/80, I will likely pack off the CG razor.

But CG Level 2 is a very special razor....theres been some talk saying it's very similar to the RAW RS-10 aggressive plate.
I much prefer the CG Gen 1 plate as it makes a great sound while scraping hair away. Gen 2 mutes this sound a lot and
some may not like that.

In WR2 head, the OC side is said to be slightly more efficient while the SB side is slightly smoother.
I prefer the trade off that comes with SB. Having used a 1.15 a lot, I feel I could easily step up to
the 1.25SB and use it daily for all passes... I do about 2 1/2 and some light buffing. Anything above 1.25 would
be overkill for me....only to be used after release from a long incarceration.

i used just the 1.05SB side of my wr2 today. even on 1 day's growth (and my facial hair does not grow fast at all), i needed to flip to the 1.25 oc side for 1 spot that the 1.05 SB wouldn't cut without applying to much pressure. my face needs an aggressive razor

CG LVL 2 is the best razor I own.

WR2 is nice but I prefer Timeless to that and CG to Timeless if we talk only about the shave.

As a physical object (ie wrt how it's made, F&F, etc), the Wolfman is spectacular and is a clear step up from either.

YMMV.

Thanks for posting that info. Based on that if I get the chance I'm going for the 1.15 OC & 1.25 SB on a DC. I've also decided for the WR-7 long hollow handle. Variety is the spice of life Smile

Which WR2 are you comparing? Which Timeless?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I have a .95 SS DC Timeless and I can’t put it in the same class as my WR2 1.25 DC. I would put it neck and neck with my WR1 .74 DC but not above it. Just my personal opinion!

Speaking for myself ... I tried the Timeless .68 SB and it just didn't deliver the goods for me. Yes I could get BBS, but I had to work hard to get it. I sold it and went .95 and it was 'just like downtown.' Smile On my phizzog the CG LV 2 is equivalent to the Timeless .68.

Here's where things get complicated. A Wolfman SB & OC .61 gives me a great shave, as does a Blackbird ... IIRC Shane said they are .58 ? So it is more than gap. This is why it is confusing regarding which WR-2 to go for.

Comparing a .74 and/or .86, both of which I have, to what guys are posting regarding the 1.05, 1.15 and 1.25 ... what to do ? I am not a rich guy, and aside from the difficulty of ordering any of them from James ... being in the right place at the right time ... @ $300 a pop I want to get it right the first time ... I'm going 1.25 DC if I ever get the chance ... Blush

That’s the right choice!! James actually asked me if I wanted to go that aggressive when I ordered my WR2 1.25 DC and I love more aggressive highly efficient razors. I did not hesitate at all! The only razor that has this same efficiency at that gap is the new Rocnel A Elite 2.10. I also have a Charcoal Goods Level 3 DC and it is very close in efficiency but I have to use a PolSilver instead of a Feather with that one to dial it down a bit.

I’m curious about the WR2 OC, but the SB works so well for me and the Razors are so hard to come by that I don’t know if I can bring myself to take a chance on one. I’d love to try a WR2 1.15 OC in Stainless though.
