Or let’s say 1 hour that is the time we get per year to order a wolfman razor!!

It is kind of crazy! Still we have some people on this forum owning one or more that is quite an achievement guys. Congrats!!

That might be the case now, but it wasn't when the WR1 was all that was available and drops were happening reliably every 10-14 days or so. The window to purchase was open longer, too. I bought my first one while shopping in Bed, Bath and Beyond. My friend texted me. I had time to mull over my decision. It was probably open for a good 10-15 minutes. Maybe it will go back to being like that once enough WR2s are in circulation.

Yeah, I hope it gets easier to order and at least the drops are 15 - 20 min. long or he is able to figure something out. But each artisan takes their own decisions like Brian from Charcoal Goods is now concentrating to mass produce most asked designs like his Lvl2 closed comb plates. There was a huge waitlist and now he is able to at least make the production of mostly asked designs faster.

It’s also important to remember that back then there were zero handle options. One length and solid only. With all the customization he has started to offer things are taking longer

To save people going back, you have a DC 1.25 OC and 1.05 SB with 100mm handle - do you use both sides each shave? Do you have a side preference?

i've been using the oc for 1st pass
oc for 2nd across the grain on face, SB for 2nd pass down on neck
OC against the grain 3rd pass on face, SB against the grain on neck

might just use sb tomorrow

Thanks - what I find so interesting is that the 1.25 OC is the most aggressive option available as a standard order, and yet you're fine using it for your 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd pass!

Any Wolfman razor owners that also own or used a Charcoal Goods razor chime in and give your input on how they compare/which one they like better?

I have the WR1 61 OC and the CG level 2 SB. They are pretty similar efficiency wise. The Wolfman has a little more exposure and less gap. The Charcoal Goods has a bigger gap with less exposure. They are both smooth shavers. They are my favorite razors. I don’t know if I could pick one over the other.

I have the WR-1 in .61 OC, .61 SB, .74 DC, and .86 OC. Charcoal Goods (Brass) in LV 2 SB & OC, and LV3 SB & OC. I'm not sure myself whether I prefer the .74 or the .86 in the Wolfman. I get great shaves out of all of them, including the .61s.

With the CGs the LV2 OC, and either of the LV3s are fine shavers for me. I have two LV2 SB plates and neither of them is to my liking shave wise. Just not aggressive enough. They are alright if I am shaving daily, but if I have two or three days growth they don't deliver the goods for me. YMMV.

I'm unable to compare the Charcoal Goods against the Wolfman WRs though, because it is like apples and oranges, or who do you like better, Van Gogh or Gauguin ? To me they are both objects of functional art, and both great. One is not better than the other, only different.
