I'm not really tinkering per se, just comparing to my other razors. This will be my first Wolfman.

Has anyone tried pairing a Wolfman head with a Charcoal Goods handle?

Same with me and I HEAVILY criticised him when he switched to the "friends and family method" of "random drops" (which the real close people to him already knew the exact drop times)  so 90% of the users that wanted one, were out of luck.  Now we can all have one, if we want one.   He should have never abandoned the waitlist method.

Not to argue, but I've chased Wolfman razors since Jan 2018. I was deeply immersed in the underground of obtaining his razors. Several of the guys had a closer relationship than I had with him....and I never, EVER heard of a drop being announced to anyone. No heads up on specific days, let alone exact times. If you have some solid evidence of such malfeasance, do share. Please.

The same groups of my friends also chase other specific brush drops too. I only know of one American knot tier who told his friends of a drop specifically to poke a new American knot tier in the eye on the exact same day as his inaugural drop. That's knot the only time hes done it either.  His business, he can run it any way he wants, just like DuFour. I find it shady and bullcrap frankly. In fact, that's part of the seedy, slimy underbelly of the "gentlemans" hobby I referenced a few posts back. Some people kinda suck. I'll admit, if you have proof, my opinion of DuFour would certainly be tarnished.

Does James have favorites? I'm sure there are guys with direct pipelines and honestly, nothing wrong with that. Actually, this is probably how he selectively hooks his friends up. I'm just guessing here, are you?

In America, the accuser has to provide proof of wrongdoing.

The accused does not have to provide evidence they didn't do it.

Unless all my time reading John Grisham novels has gone to waste.

Those that know me, know that I love to try different handles on any of my razor heads. I do this so much that a very popular razor artisan sent me a PM on Instagram and asked, “What is it with you and always trying other handles on razor heads?” I laughed at that and told him that I love experimenting with other handles, especially if the original razor comes with a handle that is too short for me to use. My preference is 95-98mm handles on any razor. I have a nice collection of higher end handles by various makers. This is just a preference and I will say that I absolutely love the handles that James makes for his razors and usually stick with those, especially on my WR2 heads. The only other handles I have used on them is a very rare stainless steel Jurgen Hempel and a titanium/bronze Stork.

I think I answered your question in the prior post and still...you are a smart guy, you know for fact I can't prove it.  I don't work in his office.  I'm not him.  I've never spoken to him.  So, no, I can't prove that he did not tip exact drop times to his friends, which was the accusation.  I just assume that if someone states something as FACT, surely you know for certain, no?  he either tipped you personally, you saw a screen grab from an e-mail or a text, or some other tangible evidence.  That's all I asked for was some evidence of such a strong accusation which, since it was never provided and never really directly addressed by the accuser that I recall, i will assume it was just some jilted jealously bubbling up in a post.  I think my point was made.  Your point is to make it just as important for me to disprove an allegation someone else made?  That seems way twisted around and unjust to me.  what am I missing?  Isn't there some lawyer words for spreading gossip as fact? Libel or slander or something.  this is a man's reputation being attacked...any man, you are OK with that?

That is only half correct, the other half of America
Are routinely considered Guilty until Proven innocent.
And that my friend has been proven with solid evidence numerous times and to this day is the
Gold Standard.
Not trying to start an argument, and definitely no disrespect to James/Wolfman , I'm just pointing out
The nuances and although unintentional may have
Slightly Lowered the pedestal that they stand on

Based on this response and how you brought it up with me initially, I've come to the conclusion you are simply trolling. If not, I've zero interest in trying to figure out how your mind works. We will never agree. Don't get this thread shut down by resurrection something that was addressed and let die...ans seeding it with a racial/social/political undertone. That just sucks. *loot strolls off to find an ignore button*

Theres an unhealthy trend in shaving circles these days.
Say something critical about a piece of equipment or it's maker and all hell breaks loose.
Are the owners of these devices so fragile that they must lash out at anyone who doesn't
like what they do?

I am happy to report that happy wolfman owners don't give a hoot. I speak for all when I say
that we don't care if James Dufour was churning out razors for Idi Amin or the Pope, or Bob in Idaho
before he got back to us.

Once again, we don't care....enjoy the razors, enjoy the fair and equitable system that is in place now.

Hey hey hey...Amin is one thing, Hell even the Pope is another (despite Ozzy Osbourne’s “protestations”) but will be a son of a bitch if expecting approval for that bastard Bob in Idaho. F@ck Bob in Idaho and I don’t give a rat’s ass who minds....

In all seriousness, Loot is right that duFour isn’t under an obligation to prove he is innocent of an allegation made without some minimal standard of proof. Further, one remedies injustice by resolving the wrong perpetrated, perhaps providing recompense but NEVER by committing injustice on innocents: we have experimented in this fallacy for 5 decades, only creating vitriol between parties that should be natural allies and shielding the perpetrators from punishment for their wrongdoing.

Every day is a great day to further justice and right wrongs
