Not to argue, but I've chased Wolfman razors since Jan 2018. I was deeply immersed in the underground of obtaining his razors. Several of the guys had a closer relationship than I had with him....and I never, EVER heard of a drop being announced to anyone. No heads up on specific days, let alone exact times. If you have some solid evidence of such malfeasance, do share. Please.

The same groups of my friends also chase other specific brush drops too. I only know of one American knot tier who told his friends of a drop specifically to poke a new American knot tier in the eye on the exact same day as his inaugural drop. That's knot the only time hes done it either.  His business, he can run it any way he wants, just like DuFour. I find it shady and bullcrap frankly. In fact, that's part of the seedy, slimy underbelly of the "gentlemans" hobby I referenced a few posts back. Some people kinda suck. I'll admit, if you have proof, my opinion of DuFour would certainly be tarnished.

Does James have favorites? I'm sure there are guys with direct pipelines and honestly, nothing wrong with that. Actually, this is probably how he selectively hooks his friends up. I'm just guessing here, are you?

It comes to high end razors.

I think I answered your question in the prior post and still...you are a smart guy, you know for fact I can't prove it.  I don't work in his office.  I'm not him.  I've never spoken to him.  So, no, I can't prove that he did not tip exact drop times to his friends, which was the accusation.  I just assume that if someone states something as FACT, surely you know for certain, no?  he either tipped you personally, you saw a screen grab from an e-mail or a text, or some other tangible evidence.  That's all I asked for was some evidence of such a strong accusation which, since it was never provided and never really directly addressed by the accuser that I recall, i will assume it was just some jilted jealously bubbling up in a post.  I think my point was made.  Your point is to make it just as important for me to disprove an allegation someone else made?  That seems way twisted around and unjust to me.  what am I missing?  Isn't there some lawyer words for spreading gossip as fact? Libel or slander or something.  this is a man's reputation being attacked...any man, you are OK with that?

Technically, James would not have to tip people off to drop times. It's his business, so he could just sell his friends a razor when they asked.  It really doesn't matter though because he has the right to run his business however he wants.

Indeed. I'm almost certain I tilled that ground a couple pages back.

James can do with his business as he pleases, imho. if he wants to tell his friends or whatever that a razor drop is coming soon or give them first dibs, then that's his right and prerogative...some might not like it, but it's not THEIR business to be able to dictate what happens.

To change the topic a little, for those with the 1.55 WR2 what blade do you prefer? I imagine sharper blades like feathers might be too harsh -- or is that not the case at all?

I use a Feather or a Gillette Platinum. Feather blade’s are great and because of its smoothness perform extremely well in it.

I've mainly used Feather or Wizamet, maybe a Silver Blue IIRC. All smooth as silk in the 1.55 SB.

I need to give those Platinums another try. I bought a pile but still think the GSB is a smoother blade. I'll revisit soon.

I also use Feather, Personna Lab Blues, and Astra greens in my 155. They are all great performers for me.

Exciting news! after 5-6 days of my wolfman being "stuck" in the same status, it now says it arrived at San Francisco (not sure if it passed customs yet), hopefully I can receive in texas this week. I have never been so excited to try a new razor lol
