Wolfman WR2 Head Discussion

I started with a SR when I was 18. That’s what I’ve mostly used my whole life. I enjoy all form of shaving. The last decade it’s been really fun with the new DE and SE’s coming to the market. But for me there is just no substitute for a Wolfman. It’s a league on its own. From the moment you hold it. Yes, I can get an equally close or comfortable shave with a Karve, CG or even a vintage Gillette, to name a few..., just like you don’t need an expensive SR to get the job done but there is something to be said about a perfectly balanced, finished and engineered tool. The joy I get from using such a tool is worth every cent. There’s just no comparison. Wolfman is at the top of the pyramid. At least for me. On the other hand nothing shaves as close as a SR and I truly enjoy the Zen ritual that comes with the whole SR experience.

I think their are several manufacturers that are extremely close to Wolfman but, yes, they are still the best razors on the planet.

I agree 100%, Wolfman DE razors are the best on the planet in fit and finish. The equivalent of Max Sprecher made straight razors.

Got my Wolfman in today. This razor is just a work of art man. Easily the most visually appealing razor I own. Easy to see why so many people love this razor.  I have yet to shave with it, I'll shave with it tomorrow and see how it goes. This is a 1.55 sb.

Does anyone have experience with the WR2/WRH1 hollow and solid? That knurled handle has grown on me and I find I have zero razors with knurling these days.

How mild/smooth/efficient is the 1.05 WR2? I know there is a 0.95 gap available.
I'm on the list for a WR1 0.48/0.54 but have been offered a 1.05 WR2 but have no idea with gaps for the WR2.
I'm using a Tatara Masamune at the moment.

I've tried both the hollow and solid WRH2 handle and much prefer the solid version. The whole razor felt a bit light with the hollow handle.

I think it comes down to preferences. I have a WR2 with 80mm #1 handle and a WR1 with 80mm #2 handle. The WR2 razor feels a little heavy to me. The WR1 feels ok weight wise, but the balance is a little off because the head is so slim. I also like to hold my razors at the bottom with 2 fingers instead of 3 so I notice the weight a little more. The WR2 doesn’t feel as heavy if I hold it close to the balance point. The only reason I didn’t get hollow handles is because I wasn’t sure how the press fit would hold up over time.
