I have a wr2 1.55 on the way to me. I've been consistently Wetshaving for less than a year and I tend to prefer higher gaps as well. Lets just hope I didn't go too high lol
Not with a WR2. It is still smooth and efficient. Just use a light touch

Yes, that's what I was getting from reading this thread. I originally was on a 1.25 OC but decided to go for the 1.55 sb. Cant wait man.

Perception a funny thing; reading through this thread, was convinced those wanting milder razors were in the minority and a dying minority at that....

I have a 1.25 and a 1.55/1.35 and the smoothness is exactly the same. The efficiency goes way up with the 1.55.

One member just sold his 1.45 on the BST. Said it was too aggressive.

Exactly. I always feel I am the only one who is left who likes mild razors...

I am a mild fan too. I had a 115 and didn't like the fact that I felt scalped after each use. I cannot imagine using a 155. Comfort is my first priority, followed by closeness. The 95 was okay, but the 105 is my sweet spot.

I can use straights every day. But 1.15 is my absolute limit for wr2’s and can’t use every day at that. 1.05 if I want to shave daily for more than 2-3 days in a row.

Isn’t that odd regarding using straights but leaning to the milder side of face feel in a DE? Always felt as though alone in that respect and not often discussed

I had a Ti DC for a while that was always seemed very aggressive. I bought feeler gauges and learned I was sent the wrong gap. I was like a 1.55+ (more like 1.60) OC/1.45 SB. I was extremely efficient, but too much for my face. I now have a 1.25, 1.15 and 1.05 (all SB). After using what might have been the highest gapped WR2 of all, I don't think I need anything higher gapped than a 1.25. Even then, I only use it once per week, though it's usually my favorite shave of the week.
