I'm on the list for a WR1 0.48/0.54 but have been offered a 1.05 WR2 but have no idea with gaps for the WR2.
I'm using a Tatara Masamune at the moment.
Presuming you fond of the Tatara, the 1,05 going to be a bridge too far in my experience. Not as though it will tear your face to shreds but just uncomfortable. You need stick to 0,95 in WR2 and, being honest, even a 0,54 in WR1 going to be somewhat pushing it. The 0,48 WR1 is about spot on to the Masamune. Have owned all the razors discussed and conducted passarounds on all the Tatara to date. The WR2 is quite smooth in 1,05 but you an outlier in preferring exceptionally mild razors

Thanks so much for your advice.
Will go for the 0.48 when I get my chance.
Yeah, I do love mild razors. I do find my level 1 CG a touch too aggressive at times!

I have the hollow WRH1 and I prefer it to the solid version. I like lighter razors.

I prefer lighter razors as well, and often enjoy letting the heavier head do the work. Thanks to everyone for giving feedback!

IMHO, Wolfman’s Google list is his best move ever, as it has virtually eliminated the large mark-ups in the secondary market... Shavers just sit on the forums or sell at slightly above retail. This is great for James and Us!

I like the current system quite a bit. Even knowing that if you sign up today and it may take a year to get it... most probably wouldn’t have had that chance at all with the lightening fast drops. You get a chance to really figure out what you want and prepare for the cost. I think the order form also has seemed to quell some of the unobtanium frustrations. The fact that he lets you put your name in the que, place a complete custom order, not take a dime until you are contacted, and delivers your custom razor within a couple of weeks of payment is why it’s worth it to me. With the best fit and finish in the game. If there’s any artisan that could get away with the give me your money and you’ll get it when you get it approach it would be James... but when you’re the best there’s no need for excuses or hokey sales tactics. Makes me happy to see more people than ever posting here and getting to enjoy these razors.

Couldn’t agree more Marcos. That’s how I finally got mine and as much as we want instant gratification the wait is a badge of honor and an opportunity to figure out the configuration you believe will work best. With the insight of a all the Wolfman enablers who shared their experiences with different gaps, handles, polish, OC or SB etc I would not have chosen a gap which I thought was a bit too aggressive when ordered. Best leap of faith I have ever made in this hobby.

I just had my first shave with the Wr2 1.55 and it went very well. I was able to knock down 3 day growth with ease and got nearly no nicks. I nicked myself on my upper lip probably because of too much  pressure but other than that I had no other problems with shaving. I had a bit of difficulty with loading the blade though. I used a Kai blade and it wasn't aligning perfectly. I'm not sure if that is normal with the wr2 but I would have to toggle it and try to eyeball it then quickly tighten the cap and try not to move the blade. Is that common with the wr2 cap?
