Wolfman Wr2 blade chatter ?

Maybe contact Wolfman to get some guidance - perhaps your razor didn’t get through “quality control” as no one is perfect.

JimmyH reminded me that I also have a BBS-1, just totally forgot it was the proto-WR2, which has become the best head shaving razor I’ve found and same story, zero blade chatter.

Are you sure the top plate and baseplate are locking down tightly? Reason I say that is  I recently got a WR1 .61 SS I ordered from Wolfman and it would not lock down tight without a washer in it.  It was strange as it came with a washer and it’s the first one I’ve ever gotten that had that came with a washer and the first that had that problem. I returned the razor as  I had the exact same razor years ago so I know how it should be and this one was just not right.  I will say I’ve had 10 Wolfman razors over the years and never had blade chatter.

This makes me wonder about James's QC. I've heard he has hired an assistant. I've also seen complaints on the new lesser finishes not being as well done as in the past. I hope this is just an anomaly, and his standards (perfectionism) don't diminish.

Too late judging by recent reports. Damned shame too.

I only have one Wolfman left, a WR1 0.74SB. It's my favorite Wolfman, but not only do I keep it for the shave quality, but because it's an original satin brushed finish from before the current waiting system. His basic finishes are great, but the mirror polish and satin brushed are unequaled IMO. It would be such a shame if James starts cutting corners.

I too owned a WR2 1.25 but found other styles of razors to work better for me. Thinking of razor styles as Clamping or Dampening has worked for me.

Clampers usually don’t have much give which because of my personal situation leaves me raw or irritated.

Dampening style (or ones with actual “blade chatter”) razors leave my skin feeling much better because there’s some “give” to the blade. Blackbird, Yates, Henson, Rocnel Sailor, Paradigm have all been keepers. Wolfman and Karve (rigid clampers) have not.

Tony, I have a similar experience as you. My favorite razors are less rigid and give me the smoothest shave. BB Ti, RS 10, Diamondback and Charcoal goods. I sold all my WR2 razors and my Karves as they just weren't as smooth.

I am not getting any blade chatter from these razors. 
WR2 1.45 Ti which I got from you is still my #1. Everything is great with this razor. Super efficient and very smooth. 
Lately I got Karve Aluminum E F G, only used G. It is another fantastic razor. Again super efficient and very smooth. 
For me, BB Ti is as smooth as RS10 and DB. And it is noticeably more efficient.

I never had any blade chatter from a WR2. all levels I owned held the blade tight.
