I can only comment on the brushed finish as I went that direction but it is beautiful to look at. Feels great, looks great and I am completely satisfied with my choice!

Used the SB head this morning and was amazed at the smoothness of the shave. I feel that the standard gap provides a close enough shave that I am not sure what I may gain by getting the increased blade gap [I went back and forth on this quite a bit].

I was also struck even in the simple act of loading a blade. The smoothness of the threading on head/handle made it feel as if I was threading liquid. Unique and something I have never experienced with any other razor in my collection.

Love the heft as well. I will share some thoughts after I have a few more shaves but so far I am extremely happy with both the quality and the performance.

As Freddy suggested, both for each shave, but if I were to invest in James' masterpiece, I think I would eventually go for all the heads. Not that the DC won't handle everything, but its a lifetime purchase and you might as well have it all! Besides, you'll be picking up the slant head as soon as James has it available, right? Lets see... There will be a slant OC and a slant SB and a...

I think I can see an eventual $1K shaving system that will be impossible to resist, and why should one resist? I envy you for having the first leg up on such a system. Smile

Kevin, your photo shows two razors - are they both wolfman?  What do you call the pattern on the handle?  I know what you mean about the threading on the handle/head, its the feel of a finely machined tool.  I wonder what torque setting I should use to tighten the threads properly?  I'll have to ask JamesSmile

You speak my language beamon Smile

I actually picked up the SB and OC this round so don't have the DC but think it a good tool based on my experience with other DC heads.

I did speak with James about just buying baseplates as well which opens other options.

Hi Marko, I did get two- OC and SB. The handles are the WRH2 and WRH4 [in the Surplus category; similar to the BBS handle].

James calls WRH4 a diamond knurled pattern. It is very grippy, looks cool too.

The WRH2 which I think you have too, is a riff on the Aristocrat knurling which I love.

Very nice, I'm interested to hear your thoughts on their performance. I'm going through the process of determining which blade suits the razor best. With my luck one blade will be ideal for the open comb side and a different blade for the safety bar side. I assume you will now be doing full shaves as November is behind us.

I am clean and fresh faced! I used the SB today with a Feather blade and it delivered the goods. I will try others of course but so far so great with the Feather.

After I get a few sessions under the belt will share thoughts on the SB then move to the OC.

I was torn- the polished looks like art from the images I have seen. Very happy with the brushed but the polished is exceptional!

Use in good health.

Kevin, I've tried a few different blades in the wolfman - feather, viking's sword, derby, GSB and today I thought I'd try the Bic blade which I hadn't used in a while as it has an affinity for the EJ DE89 which I haven't used much lately. It worked very nicely in the Wolfman. I'm finding the wolfman very efficient but with the blades I mentioned above it was feeling slightly over aggressive I thought. The bic is a fairly mild blade so who knows, I'll give it a few more runs and then try another one but I did like it today. What blades are you using in yours so far and to what end?
