Wizamets on the Bay

Do any of you Blade aficionados know if the Wizamets currently on the bay are legit? I’m currently using some I bought from private sale here and love them but am weary of most things being sold on eBay as legit. Thanks

I bought the 250 from the seller on ebay 2 weeks ago and they are legit Wizmets made in Russia. I feel they are better and smoother than PoliSilver.

I guess more specifically I’m asking if anyone has ever bought from or knows that the source of Wizamets on eBay right now are legit? Is there any first hand knowledge with that seller?

I believe one buyer got counterfeit blades from that source and a refund.

Just my 2 cents regarding these. I have used them and still have a 10 pack. While a very good/smooth blade I do not personally feel that they are "unsurpassed" in that regard. There are a host of modern Gillette blades just as good if not better, e.g., Platinum, Silver Blue, Rubie, etc.

The Counterfeit blade phenomenon seems a bit of of a head scratcher to me.

I’ve bought many packs from this seller and feel they’re the best available for me, and decidedly different than pols - especially on the first shave or 2.

Man these blades are nothing but confusion. Are the brown packaged ones the originals from Poland? Then there are two different blue packages as well. I guess the darker blue are what are currently being produced in St. Petersburg, right? Well that is if they are with that whole going out of production rumor.

The brown boxed blades are ‘Stainless’ whereas the blue boxes are Iridium Super Extra Stainless...different blades. I’ve used both and they are very different blades.

I've got a few blue box, now I'm thinking I better try the brown box, before I buy a larger amount

I read through that thread about a week ago. One of the posters, milogciachez, seemed believable, and the OP eventually posted (#13) that “The only reason I was able to spot the fakes is I thankfully had purchased a set of genuine blades from milogciachez which are in the correct packaging and provide a stellar shave experience compared to the order I had to return to a different seller.“  So I bought 100 Wizamets from milogciachez about a week ago. They were shown in the packaging I was looking for.  I think (but I am not sure) that they were/are made in St. Petersburg (PPI) using the same equipment that was transferred from Łódź, Poland, and the same process. Hopefully, I will be as satisfied as the OP.  ... Stay tuned.

I think I've been on that posting also, but I'm going to go back and look, I'll be watching for your thoughts on the milogciachez purchased blade. I think that's on the bay? I'll search and watch or save that seller for later reference.

The other place is quick to throw their “weight” around and is extremely difficult for artisans to work with.

If it weren’t for DFS my forum days would be long over. Myself and many fantastic folks have been banned at B&B for petty and ridiculous reasons. Grateful to Andrew for providing this place.

Correct Sean, I'll say this and then let this thread go back. They kind of left us hanging in the middle of our transaction didn't they, thankfully you were good honest guy and found me on here
