Marcos, if you’re looking at the same deal I am (for a pack of 250), that’s a good question. That price is a better value than that of many currently produced blades…

Just found this. I’m not a member on that forum, so I cannot see all the pictures that have been posted on the thread, but even so, it seems to contain useful information:

The pics at the top of the thread aren't showing for anyone fwiw.
Man these blades are nothing but confusion. Are the brown packaged ones the originals from Poland? Then there are two different blue packages as well. I guess the darker blue are what are currently being produced in St. Petersburg, right? Well that is if they are with that whole going out of production rumor.

I’m not an expert on this series of blades, but I believe the brown packaging was the Polish production packaging, and the blue ones are of Russian origin (the lighter blue being an older iteration).

As for the going out of production rumor, that has been circulating for quite a while now. I believe the production notice on this site (https://www.polsilver-blades.com/) has been up for well over a year, yet the blades still seem to be widely available.
The whole thing reminds me of the Personna (Med) Prep vs. Personna Super (Lab Blue) matter. I’ve never seen anyone provide a verifiable source for the absolute truth on whether Polsilvers have been discontinued, or if those two Personna blade models are the exact same blade or somehow different (apart from the Preps being sterilized).

1. There is a man who posts on B&B who obviously has a Gillette connection of some sort and he has confirmed that Polsilver is still being made. Everything else he has stated re Gillette has proven to be factual and only something an "insider" would know.
2. Personna has confirmed to me (and others) via e-mail that they are the very same exact blade except that Med Prep is sanitized (not sterilized).

Thanks for this information and the correction, BPman. There are so many contradictory statements on various forums, that it’s difficult to separate the facts from the rumors.

I bought the 250 pack from antiquebarber "wizamets" the ones in the blue packaging. Also have used polsilvers in bulk. Never have used the wizamets from Poland that come in the yellowish gold tan tucks. Both blue variations manufactured in Russia so I guess the ones labeled wizamets in blue packaging must be when they first moved production to Russia? I can confirm they are very good blades On par with polsilvers if not slightly better. Good price too for 250 blades of quality imo. I will buy another 250 from that seller for sure, hope this helps.

I believe one buyer got counterfeit blades from that source and a refund.
Here's a legitimate source in Ireland, but prices have gone up as quantities are finite:

Just my 2 cents regarding these. I have used them and still have a 10 pack. While a very good/smooth blade I do not personally feel that they are "unsurpassed" in that regard. There are a host of modern Gillette blades just as good if not better, e.g., Platinum, Silver Blue, Rubie, etc.
