I'm in the camp that Gillette only makes three different DE blades:  the economical in country (Russia) Sputnik, all blades marked Stainless and all blades marked Platinum. The rest is all marketing.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Well I have to say after alternating shaves between Polsilver and Wizamet blades for almost a month I would have to say they are basically the same blade. Maybe a slight advantage to Polsilver. That being said just placed an order for 500 Wizamet blades. That should keep me going for a bit!! Thanks to everyone for their input.

I don't agree at all.
There are 3 blades right now called "Gillette Platinum" and they aren't even the same.

I am a long time user of Polsilver SI blades and find the Wizamet to be very similar, but not identical. They are definitely a nice replacement blade. Some others I use that offer great performance ar Gillette 7'oclock Super Platinum, Bolzano, and Nacet. I would recommend getting some Wizamet blades and try them just so you will know.

Wizamets eBay. Polsilver aftermarket. Be warned there are just as many phony polsilvers out there as legit ones. I had made a post here recently when I first came across them and now after seeing many of them they are definitely fake. The exists way to spot a phony( without opening the box ) is looking at the lettering on the box. Just compare the two in this link. Especially the letter “y” on the top right. Also the phony box is a darker blue. The blades are night and day difference.

Though I had shaved with both I never really drew a conclusion since I didn't focus on one or the other to compare ... until the past week.

Trying to figure out where I stood on the bronze WR1 0.80 I had tried a Feather initially, and I think it was just a bad apple out of the bunch.

Followed up with a Voshkod for one shave and it was okay, then a Polisilver for 3 shaves.

It was what I had been looking for. I only do 3 shaves on a blade so followed the Polisilver with a Wizmet and found it equaled the Polisilver.

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
