Please!! All razor blades are...............wait for it.......sharp!! If you cut yourself it's due to human error, i.e., faulty prep and/or technique or more common, using a razor more aggressive than needed. Saying that a blade can prevent that is like saying a certain type of piano allows an amateur to sound like concert pianist. Regardless of blade installed in a razor the blade's edge is a fixed position/height. That can only be altered by pressure. No exceptions...............ever. It's science.

YMMV but I was using a Henson RK blade causing knicks and tugging, mid shave took out the blade and switched to a Nacet and voila perfect smooth shave with no cuts, tugging etc.

Same razor, same prep, same soap, same hair, same pressure and technique, only the blade changed - human error? Not so sure about that.

I will say that not all blades are created equal. Some are sharper than others. Even among the 'top' contenders in polls some guys like blades that I find lacking, like Derbys, Merkurs, Dorkos .... others hate blades that I find excellent such as Feather, KAI, etcetra.

I will say that the whole is the sum of its parts, and a shave consists of prep, soap/cream, brush, razor, blade, and most important ... experience and technique.

IME after 55 years of shaving, some days I'm more on my game than others, and pilot error can definitely play a part, even for an experienced and knowledgeable shaver.

What you think is sharp is really smoothness imparted by the PTFE blade coating and not the hone of a DE blade. The reason why the Henson bade was rough is probably because it's made in India by a crappy co.  Wink

Couldn’t agree more I also find my Astra Blue Superior Czechoslovakia made one last and best DE blades made but again YMMV…

I get 4-6 shaves out of it at ease  Happy2

Absolutely 100% find that same way “de blade” can play key part for the nice smooth shave in my experience with my Astra Blue Superior Vintage wow shaving it with my Wolfman or CG supper smooth and phenomenal shave…again ymmv..

Again I could wrong..
